How does every-body like it or

make it.

What keeps people drinking

it.

Do people drink it outdoors.

What do people have alongside.

Page 5: Final Indesign Pages

Breaking down the process and elements involved in making a cup of tea will help me understand what

aspects i can revolutionalise.

consider the Who, When, Where, why and how.

Concepts...

Page 6: Final Indesign Pages

While enjoying a drink with another person you are not only sharing the taste but also the moment. Could two people be brought

closer together very.

Closer

Page 7: Final Indesign Pages

Carrying drinks while sharing the moment with Friends is always a tricky process, Could a simple solution address this.

Carrying

Page 8: Final Indesign Pages

Sharing with others can have its negetive aspects but could simple solutuions make

this much easier.

Groups

Page 9: Final Indesign Pages

in the outdoors it is always hastle to share a warm drink, could i develop a has-

tle free object to ensure youve always got a drink to share.

Outdoors

Page 10: Final Indesign Pages

Sharing a drinkin a group is never straight forward, everyone has different tastes but could this problem be fairly easy to

cater for.

Preference

Page 11: Final Indesign Pages

Space is an ever growing concern from storing the components needed to make

a tea and the potencial damage caused by spilling a full cup very costly.

a simple carrying device could potencially be

a very effective concept. not only for the home but also

for the catering market such as cafes.

a simple carrying device could potencially be

a very effective concept. not only for the home but also

for the catering market such as cafes.

Chosen Concepts

Both these objects have to potencial to be used in a personal but also in comercial enviroments.

there would be many issues to address

if i took this design futher such as.

Stabilitybalance

SizeLid

Handles

for this design to be a sucsess the mech-anism would have to be smooth and and

easy to use.

With a sliding lid this design could work well but it would

have to easily lock into place.

Safty will be a con-sideration with car-

rying hot water.

Also the handle would have to be

suitable for a num-ber of people to

use.

A detachable spout splitter would

definalty not be suit-bale to separate the

two.

Main Conecpt

Although there are many flasks that already exist, to transform it with the idea of sharing could bring a whole new dimension to an everyday

object.

Out off all of my con-cepts this is one of the most simple forms but such a simple form has the most potencial for further development

Exploiting the strap that secures the cups to the body of the unit will be the key feature

of this project, this will require further test-ing though modelling.

Would having sucha small internal flask

be a worthless task as it would just been too small for many people.

DevelopmentSplit Pot

As everyones preference is different we need to accomadate and having a dispencer

that wasnt only limited to a single beverage such as a teapot is to tea. but the main prob-lem in doing this is to store both separatly

and still be able to pour them with ease.

two individual containers com-bined together with the same handle would make pouring

easy.

having a curved profile towards the base would make the liquid

center as it emptied and keep it

level.

passing a handle through the middle would ensure the balance point was

equal between both.

A sliding lid that was inset and

incorporated the profile of the

spout would stop any spilling.

Developmenttea Carrier

As everyone knows carrying more than is designed to fit in your hands is always a challange and especially difficult when

obstacles such as doors are in the way. this design should let you carry a number of

mugs with ease and still have a free hand.

Although four is a safe number to begin with. through development

there is no reason more could not be

carried.

the simpler the release mecha-nism is to use

the more effective it will be as a product.

A simple single peace handle will be easy

to make and not give that chance for

hands getting caught while carrying hot

liquids

Page 16: Final Indesign Pages

With the handle inset into the cup will give a large surface area for the join between

the two materials.

a big thread will require a small

turning circle and make it easier and quicker to secure

after use.

If the strap is set out from the

surface of the flask it is open

to damage easier.

What limitations are there on size?

Page 17: Final Indesign Pages

with a smafered pin into the silicone strap it will be

easy to detach but not fall of easily.

with the pin being de-tachable it would help with the assembly and

could be safty feature to stop the strap from getting caught or help

for any repairs.

to stop the wood on the outer surface getting damaged from the heat a silicone inset would

help and it would be easily attached with the

screw of the bottom pin.

to make the flask easy to open the lids needs a grip but nothing too

aggressive and that fits into the inside of

the cup.

Page 18: Final Indesign Pages

Having the same proven

vaccum design as exiisting

flasks on the inside it

will keep the liquids hot by reducing the

heat exchange

across the internal

walls.

to reduce the length of the flask for a variation

of sizes the strap could be pinned to the side of the

cup rather than back down to the bottom.

to expand on the flask and give it a wider range

of uses the handles can sit perpendicular to eachother so not

to cross paths and not disrupt the form.

Page 19: Final Indesign Pages

to under how the whole form would work together beyond

hand drawings i began modelling from the most

basic form. By adding each component step by step it ensured that everything worked as a unit and so

nothing cross paths .

Page 20: Final Indesign Pages

Slowly through a collaboration of drawings and modeling the

form of the flask started to look like a realistic object. the

addtion of the desired materials and textures really brought out my

final developed concept.

Page 21: Final Indesign Pages

Range

to broaden the avaliablity of the flask i dont want to limit it to just a single design, using ideas from my

development i want to create a range for everyone.

Final Design

Through 3D modelling my finished concept became a crisp clean concept, each piece fits togther seemlessly and each com-

ponent combines to produce a smooth design. incorporating a number of materials, has produced an object capable of storing hot drinks while also having two mugs ready to use for sharing with someone else.
