FINAL GROUP PROJECT You will use the social media tools/platforms that you knew about before and learned about in class to promote a cause and raise funds It is important to be original and active If you do not have a cause in mind, you can promote a project on kiva.org / kickstarter / IndieGoGo etc…– crowdfunding platform To promote your cause and raise funds, you will have to use: 1. Your blog 2. At least three different other social media platforms, e.g. FB, Twitter, Pinterest etc. 3. You will have to produce at least three different types of content, e.g., a story, a testimony, an interview, a video pitch, graphs etc. SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN – HOW TO PROCEED Choose your cause Establish clear and measurable objectives E.g. to get 20/50/100 people to learn about the cause; raise $100 for the cause; have 20/50 pledges to donate money etc. For your campaign, come up with 2 or 3 clear, simple and attractive messages that will communicate about your goals and get people’s attention Choose platforms to share your messages and decide how you are going to present them Carefully follow the initial response and adjust your messages/strategy accordingly (if no response, you need to change the strategy!) Actively engage with people who show the least bit of interest Share fresh material about the cause regularly GROUP PROJECT PRESENTATION You will present your campaign’s results in a group presentation You will evaluate your campaign’s results and explain the following: Overall results: Did you raise awareness? Who was interested in your campaign? Did you raise money? What kind of responses/feedback did you get? What difficulties did you encounter? What would you do differently in the future?
