  • Did you know in India every year nearly:500,000 people die because of non-availability of organs.200,000 people die of liver disease, 150,000 people await a kidney transplant but only 5,000 get one.1,000,000 people suffer from corneal blindness and await transplant

  • WHAT IS ORGAN DONATION.. Donation of biological tissue or an organ of the human body, from a living or dead person to a living recipient in need of a transplantation.

  • HISTORY

    Indian surgeon Sushruta in the 2nd century BC, used autografted skin transplantation in nose reconstruction.The first human organ transplant was a kidney transplant performed by Dr. Joseph Murray in 1954.

  • WHY DONATE?Every 16 minutes, another name is added to the waiting list.Each year, thousands of people die while waiting for a transplant, because no suitable donor can be found for them. The need for organ donors has never been greater.

  • ORGAN TRADE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKINGOrgan trade is the trade involving inner human organs for organ transplantation.Victims can be kidnapped and forced to give up an organ.Organ is removed without their knowledge. Some victims are even murdered.
