Established in 2005 as by Mr. SAMEER ARVIND BHANUSHALI, a 24 year old accounts Ashapura Impexgraduate with 3 years of FMCG distribution experience with Hindustan Unilever, a subsidiary of Anglo-Dutch Co. Unilever, we began modestly dealing in Dry Fruits (mainly Almonds) and Exotic Spices and Herbs.The next 5 years were a learning curve wherein we slowly but strongly gained foothold in the ever so competitive Almond trade. From being a marginal & negligible player we have grown ourselves into being one of the largest processors, graders & distributors of quality Almonds all across India.
With the Almond shelling, processing, cleaning, sizing, sorting, grading and distribution capacity of over 25,000-30,000 kgs per day, we are one of the biggest processors and distributors in the Indian Almond industry. Based in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, we cater to every nook and corner of the country be it the big corporate houses or the smallest of small grocery store in a remote corner of the country.Our Almond imports from California in the past 12 months stood at over 100 containers along with 25-30 containers from Australia. Add to that over 150 containers purchased locally during the year, the total turnover represents 8-10 % of the entire Indian Almond trade. In addition, we import Cloves, Cassia, Cinnamon, Star Aniseeds, Mace, Nutmegs and other exotic spices from all across Africa and Asia.
Ashapura Impex has now evolved into Ashapura Agrocomm Pvt Ltd., a privately held Limited Liability Company by the Bhanushali family. With more focussed, dedicated, determined and a clearer approach we are aiming to be the biggest and the best there ever was in the Indian Almond trade. In addition to our core product Almonds, we plan to grow and diversify into other products like Cashews, Pistachios, Walnuts, Raisins, Exotic Herbs and Spices.
