Drumfilter

MOver 2000 Hydrotech Drumfilters havebeen installed worldwide.

Microscreening is an efficient and reliable technique for separation of particlesfrom all kinds of liquids. Hydrotech develop and manufacture high performancefilters for water purification and product recovery.

The Hydrotech Drumfilter is a mechanical and self cleaning filter speciallydesigned with a view to achieving high performance in systems where it isessential to prevent the particles from fragmentation.

The filter works without pressure and is robustly designed with few movingparts to ensure long life and low maintenance costs.

Hydrotechs patented filter elements greatly simplify both the replacementand change out of the filter opening size. The drum is constructed in sections,each with three, four or five filter elements depending on diameter. Thisfacilitates maintenance and makes it easy to adapt the filter to actual need offlow capacity and performance requirements of filtration.

Drum and tank are made of stainless or acidproof steel. For use in extremelycorrosive surroundings, the filter can be equipped with drum made of titaniumand tank made of GRP. The filter elements’ structure, bearing wheels and mainshaft bearing are made of resistant plastics. The filter cloth is made ofacidproof steel or polyester.

The operation of the drumfilter can be continous or automatically controlled.Different types of automatic control systems are available.

Flow capacity:Up to 1500 I/sFilter opening:10-1000 µm.

Careful handling of the solids toprevent fragmentation isessential to achieve high filtrationefficiency. Hydrotechs uniquedesign of the filter elementsmakes this possible.

The liquid is filtered through theperiphery of the slowly rotatingdrum. Assisted by the filterelements’ special cell structure,the particles are carefullyseparated from the liquid.Separated solids are rinsed offthe filter cloth into the solidscollection tray and discharged.

Type 3, without tank– pipe inlet

Dimensions

The tank of Hydrotech Drumfilter Type 1 is provided with an internalemergency by-pass and a level weir to maintain the water level afterthe screen. The versions without tanks are designed for installationin a concrete channel or basin.

Filtering intake water from streams and lakes for municipal and industrialwater supply systems.

Polishing effluent from municipal waste water treatment works. Thedrumfilter can also replace primary or secondary clarifiers.

The Hydrotech Drumfilter is specially suitable in fish farming systemswhere it is essential to prevent the particles from fragmentation. Both inrecirculated systems and in open systems for intake and outlet water.

Food processing industries are using the Hydrotech Drumfilter for treatmentof waste water and process water.

Other examples are filtering transport water in plastic industries andpurification of scrubber water in power plants.
