INTRODUCTIONBERMUDA FILTERFORCE XTREME Filter & Waterfall Pumps are manufactured to the very highest standard of production quality.
The pumps are carefully inspected and tested to ensure both maximum safety and operating performance.
As with all electrical goods, it is critical that the full operating instruction manual is read and followed. Failure to do
this may result in pump damage and/or personal injury.
Be sure to read and save this manual for future reference.
The FILTEFORCE EXTREME pump range is specifically designed for use in garden ponds to power biological filters, UV clarifiers
and to run waterfalls. DO NOT USE in swimming pools.
Young children should always be supervised near water.
INFORMATIONThis is a submersible pump and therefore should NEVER be run out of water. The pump has a built in thermal overload
protection device which prevents it from overheating.
INSTALLATIONYou must always consult a qualified electrician or local electricity authority if you have any doubts about
wiring to the mains electricity supply.
This product is designed to be permanently wired to a mains supply through a RESIDUAL CIRCUIT DEVICE (RCD 30Ma)
WARNING: This appliance must be earthed and it is essential that all connections are securely made using the
following code:
The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or by the
earth symbol or coloured green or green-and-yellow.
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
WARNING: SAFETY & ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONSThe supply cable on this pump cannot be replaced. If the cable or motor housing is damaged, the pump should be discarded.
The installation must conform to the regulations of the local electrical authority.
If an extension cable is required, this should be connected to the end of the pump cable using a weatherproof cable connector.
The joint must be positioned outside the water in a suitable dry housing.
Always disconnect all appliances from the electrical supply before putting your hands in the water whilst the
equipment is being installed, repaired, maintained or handled.
* Do not use the supply cable to lift the pump as this may cause damage. We recommend fitting a lifting cord.
* Do not operate or leave the pump in freezing conditions.
* Do not allow the pump to run dry.
* Check that the voltage marked on the pump corresponds to the mains supply.
* Do not pump flammable liquids.
* Operate in fresh water only.
* Only operate the pump when fully submerged.
OVERLOAD PROTECTIONThe pump has a built in thermal overload trip which prevents the pump from overheating. The pump must be allowed to cool
down before restarting.
If the pump will not start again automatically when cooled down, please check the following conditions:
* Check the circuit breaker to ensure the pump is getting electrical power.
* Is there sufficient water?
* Has the filter become clogged?
* Has dirt entered the pump housing?
* Have hoses or jets become clogged?
* Has the pump cooled down sufficiently?
As soon as you have completed the checklist, you can start the pump again by reconnecting to the electricity supply.
