Das Leben der Anderen (2006) – November 21 In 1984 East Berlin, an agent of the secret police, conducting surveillance on a writer and his actress lover, finds himself becoming increasingly absorbed by their lives. Winner of the 2007 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Featuring Martina Gedeck. M (1931) – December 5 A psychotic child murderer stalks a city whisling a Grieg tune, and despite an exhaustive investigation fueled by public hysteria and outcry, the police have been unable to find him. But the police crackdown does have one sideeffect, it makes it nearly impossible for the organized criminals to operate. So they decide that the only way to get the police off their backs is to catch the murderer and ‘try’ him on their own. Peter Lorre and Gustav Gründgens star in this Fritz Lang film that has become one of the classics of Weimar Cinema and has made notorious Edvard Griegs 'In The Hall of the Mountain King' from the ‘Peer Gynt’ suite.
