DREAM! DESIGN! BUILD! Explore the Fleet’s collection of engineering activities in Dream! Design! Build! This exhibition features the classic favorite Block Busters, the versatile Fit-a-Brick Build Zone and the newest addition to the engineering interactives collection, ProtoPipe. These hands-on building activities invite people of all ages to dream like a visionary, design like an architect and build like an engineer.
IT’S ELECTRICThe newest addition to the Fleet Science Center’s permanent collection brings the science and the history of electricity to life through interactive exhibits. Fundamental principles such as magnetic fields, electric charges and battery technology are explored through interactive stations that offer hands-on learning for the whole family. Bilingual.
KID CITYKids ages five and under get to explore our working world in a safe learning environment. The colorful, hands-on cityscape includes a Grocery Store, Fire Station, Factory and Little Learners Lab, plus an Infants-Only Area. Bilingual.
NANOJoin us to explore a small world where big science happens in this engaging exhibition all about nanoscale science, technology and engineering. Bilingual. This exhibit was created by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE).
PAUSE|PLAYNOW OPEN! The Fleet’s newest exhibition invites the young and young-at-heart to experience the power of play and discover the science behind their favorite playground pastimes. Recapture the nostalgia of yesteryear in a modern indoor space with just one rule: No Adulting Allowed! Bilingual. This exhibition is generously funded in part by the Kenneth T. and Eileen L. SAN DIEGO’S WATER: FROM SOURCE TO TAPView the sources of San Diego’s water and the methods of delivering and processing this vital resource. Interactive elements explore water conservation and preservation. Bilingual.
SO WATT!Explore different ways to generate electricity, learn how solar panels work and discover simple things you can do to conserve energy.
STUDIO XStudio X is an innovative maker space that offers tools, materials and inspiration. Drop in during any open studio hours to participate in the project of the day or attend the facilitated Make-It Workshop. You can also dream up your own creation and use the resources in Studio X to bring it to life. Studio X is the space for Fleet visitors to eXplore, eXpress and eXperiment!
