The poster has the release date to inform its potential audience about when it is releasing. The poster also has the names of the main actors. In a very conventional way the credits of the film are written at the bottom of the poster.

The slogan: “PREY. SLAY. DISPLAY”Indicates the genre of the movie which is horror. Half of the poster is smudged into darkness. The dark, gloomy & vague door of a building supports its genre.

The text has a gloomy and creepy effect and the green color of the text shows sickness, ambition, greed & jealousy. The poster also has the shade of green, supporting the situation of the movie.

The facial expressions of the actors which is non-verbal communication creates a serious and tens environment. The eyes of the actors are dark & not properly visible which shows fear & mystery. The element of realism can be seen clearly. The body postures of the actors show that they know something bad is coming their way.

The dress code supports the background & the overall environment of the poster. As all the actors are wearing clothes which are dirty & muddy which shows struggle. The dress code also matches the teenage age group of the actors.

After analyzing the whole poster the actors shown in the poster seems to be the victims in the movie. The villain is not shown as such. But the building in the background seems to be trapping or overpowering the victims. The name of the movie “THE HOUSE OF WAX” and the background makes the audience think that there is something wrong within the house.

Reaction:The images in the poster, the editing & the color codes used in the poster all support the genre of the movie. The overall view of the poster creates a mystery and an attraction for people having an interest in such kind of movies. As I myself like movies of such genre I like the poster and it makes me feel eager to watch this movie.
