“No Guys Policy” will come under the Romantic Comedy (Rom-com) genre.

The codes and conventions for Rom-coms are:

different social classes)0 Setting of a big, well known city0 Soundtrack (Songs used are usually well known pop songs,

Film Narrative.EQUILIBRIUM: Lola, an aspiring artist, is living in London with Dean, her boyfriend of four years. She has recently been offered her dream job, which involved moving to New York, but, because Dean was reluctant to move, she declined.

DISRUPTION TO THE EQUILIBRIUM: Days later, at a surprise birthday party one of her friends has thrown for her, she discovers that Dean has been cheating on her behind her back, with her best friend, Gaby as she walks in on them kissing.

ATTEMPT TO REPAIR DISRUPTION: A heartbroken Lola breaks off contact with both of them and goes back on her decision of turning down the job. She moves to New York, and introduces a “No Guys" policy. However, when an old family friend, Russell, an attractive work colleague, Leo, and Dean arrive back on the scene, she soon finds herself in a completely different situation that what she wanted to be in. Trapped between three guys, rather than guy-free.

REINSTATEMENT: Lola makes it clear to all three guys she isn’t interested, and moves to Paris to start her own business, selling her paintings. The film ends with an attractive guy smiling over at her, and Lola telling a friend that she thinks her “no guy” policy has been going on long enough.

Stars

Ashley Greene will play Lola because she’s a well known actress among my target audience (15-30)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Dean as he’s had experience in the Rom-com genre before (10 Things I Hate About You, 500 days of summer)

Andrew Garfield to play Leo.

And Tom Felton to play Russell because they are both well-known British actors.

I think Jonas Elmer would be good to direct my film because he’s directed romantic comedies before, such as 500 Days of Summer, and he knows how to create the artistic vibe that I’d like my film too have.

Comparisons to other films. The target audience for “No Guys Policy” is females aged between 15-30, and they will be drawn to the film due it’s genre and popular and attractive actors. My film is similar in narrative and genre to “New In Town” and “500 Days Of Summer” both of which were relatively successful.

Logline

When Lola’s boyfriend of four years cheats on her with her best friend, she moves to New York, gets a new job, and swears off guys. But when attractive old friends and work colleagues arrive on the scene, acting charming as ever, she finds abiding by her “no-guys” policy difficult and must fight to keep to it.

200 Word Pitch:“No Guys Policy” will appeal to females aged between 15-30 due to it’s romantic comedy genre and male actors. The film will be set mostly in and around New York, but a few select scenes, at the beginning and end, take place in London and Paris.

I have chosen Ashley Greene to play Lola because she’s a well known actress among my target audience and I think it will give her a chance to get away from the character she portrayed in the Twilight Saga movies. I have chosen Andrew Garfield to play Leo and Tom Felton to play Russell because they are all well known British actors. Dean will be played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

“No Guys Policy” is similar to “500 Days of Summer” and “New In Town” due to it’s romantic comedy genre and will be released in mainstream cinemas as romantic comedies and the actors/actresses are popular.
