  • DRAWING WITH AUTOCAD CONFERENCE AND LECTUR ROOMS 1. Drawing a Rectangular Conference Room, including furniture.

Drawing settings: a. Use a wizard b. Quick Setup c. OK d. Select Architectural Units e. Set drawing width: 25'x Length:35' (don't forget the foot mark) f. Set Grid = 12" g. Set Snap = 6" h. Create the following Layers:

Layer Name Color LineType - Walls white continuous - Furniture Red continuous

Room dimensions: Inside walls: 15'x20' Walls depth= 5" Use the ID point command to locate point on your drawing and have the position of the point displayed in coordinates. Use the ID point command to locate a point on the drawing. Use the line command to draw the right side of the door opening, (see figure below). Use appropriate command to create the left side of the door opening.

  • Use Trim to trim the horizontal wall lines between the two 5" vertical lines that represent the door opening.

    - Add a 3' vertical door line to the upper right corner of the door opening - Use the Arc (Start, Center, End) option to draw the door swing arc,

counterclockwise. The start of the arc is the top of the door line, the center is the bottom of the door line, and the end is the upper left corner of the door opening.

    - Change the current layer to Furniture. Use zoom-extents. - Use the polyline command to draw the credenza (84"long x 24" deep)

centered on the 15" rear wall of the conference room, 2" away from the wall. Locate an ID point by snapping to the inside upper left corner of the conference room. Start the polyline @48, -2 (relative coordinates) away from the point. Finish drawing the credenza.

    - Draw the conference table 120 long x 48 wide using the line command. You can determine the location of the first point by using the ID point.

Use 2 chamfer distance to bevel the corners of the conference table. - Draw a rectangle 26 wide by 28 deep using the line command - Use the fillet command with radius 12 to edit the rectangle to create the

    shape of the chair.

  • Major AutoCAD commands used to complete this assignment:

    - Polyline - Copy - Offset - Divide - Chamfer - ID point - Fillet - Rotate - Explode - Trim
