Latinos1 are more likely to be uninsured than any other racial or ethnic group in the U .S.

(see F igure 1). In K entucky:

Latinos have inadequate access to the cur rent health coverage system. In 2008, only about one-quarter (25.3%) of all Latinos living in Kentucky had employer-sponsored health insurance, and nearly to one-third (30.4%) were covered by

Health Insurance Program.2

As a result, Latino families are at risk for uninsurance. That year, nearly one-half (46.7%) of all Latinos in Kentucky were uninsured, and more than one in six (17.4%) Latino children under age 18 had no form of health coverage.3
