INTERNATIONAL DANCE COMPETITION 4 th EDITION This competition aims to encourage, reward and recognize the work of choreographers, going to support the overridingopinion purely technical, the evaluations for the communicative impact of their creations, as well as originality andcreativity. Will take place in the city of Livorno, in the heart of beautiful Tuscany, in a strategic position to reach theimportant arts-cities like Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Siena, well known Etruscan archaeological sites and famous itinerariesof food & wine, easy to be reached thanks to low-cost flying company like Ryanair, Easy Jet and others. Livorno, built bythe noble Florentine family of Medici in the 16 th century, has important glimpses. In fact, its center is traversed by canals,built for trade and shipping, called "Fossi". In the center you can admire the two forts and in a few minutes you can walkon one of the longest and most picturesque waterfront in the world, enjoying unforgettable sunsets over the Tuscanarchipelago The absolute winner will have the prize an d the sum of 500 . In 2013s edition participed over than 750dancers from Spain, France, Switzerland, Greece, Russia, Romans and Italy.The special section will be the choreographic composition, where real competitors will be the choreographers, thei rspirit, their ideas and their courage to explain concepts. In this section, the winner will have the prize and 300 . The

novelty of this year is the Musical section, that will be held in the 4 Mori theatre, also in centre town.

RULESArt. 1 : description

Participants cannot be professionists. Failure or only partial respect of the regulations, may lead toexclusion or disqualification from the competition final. Competition is denied to all teachers and studentsof Areadanza.

Art. 2 : sections and categoriesFor particular necessities, dances can be moved into a different category or section.

N.B. in Groups will be allowed only 20% of overages, with maximum 1 year more.The Musical section is divided into Junior (code MUS J) and Senior (code MUS S). Are allowed pieces ofrepertoire or original, live or in playback, only danced or danced and sung or recited. The pieces shall have amaximum duration of 6 minutes. The theater will be equipped with a video projector and interested parties willhave to prepare any images on DVD in DVD format, with images and audio in sync. The stage will be equippedwith nr. 2 microphones type "gun" and the teacher must notify the director directives for audio (playback, alllive or mixed). This section will take place at the Teatro 4 Mori in Livorno, which has a stage of 10 x 10 m.The Choreographic Composition section (code CC) is scheduled on Saturday night. It will be a greatopportunity for the choreographers to show their fantasy and creativity. Max lenght of each piece is 6 minutesand for this section there is only 1 category (all styles and age). It will be a DVD projector, so the choreographercould use it to project movies or images on the backdrop during the performance and, by this way, to help thecomprehension of the message by the audiences. If interested, choreographer could prepare those images ormovie on a DVD disk in DVD format .

Art. 3 : prizes- For CN, MC and HH sections, the prize for the absolute winner is the trophy LIVORNO DANZA 2014 and

money 500 . Other prizes are cups to the tops of each category, plates to the highest communicative, to

the most original choreography, several weekly and monthly free scholarships in international dancecenters.

- In CC section, the prize for the winner is a plate and money 300 . - In MUS sections, plate and scholarships.

Art. 4 : Terms, documents and mode of submission:A pre-registration must be made by sending an email to [email protected] , which will respondwith all information. Submission fees is for solo 95 , couple 110 , groups (from 3 to 5 people) : 120 -

for larger groups add 20 for each participant over the 5 th .For Musical and Choreographic Composition (from 3 to 5 people) : 180 - for larger groups add 20 foreach participant over the 5 th .All payments must be done by bank transfer to the bank account SWIFT code BAPPIT21T03 - IBAN codeIT 74 K 05034 13903 000000000147 of Cassa Risparmio Lucca Pisa and Livorno, payable to Areadanza

ASDC. In case of non-participation for reasons not employees of the organization, the fee for thecompetition and all other fees will not be returned. The organization reserves the right to modify or cancelthe event at any time, after returning the entry fee. In that case, competitor will be nothing to expectfrom the organization.Every dancer must pay 5 as personal registration card .Documents :

Each dance school must send :- Copy of this rules signed and marked as acceptation; - Receipt of the payment of 5 par person; - Registration form by the owner or legal rep.nt ( fill schedule page 5) ; - an alphabetical list of all its participants ( fill schedule page 6) ;- ticket booking (even) page 11

For each dancer must be send :- filled and signed release form ( page 7 ) ; - copy of passport or identity (in case of minors, that of a parent) - photocopy of medical certificate of good health ( fill schedule page 8) ;.

For each dance must be send:- the application form (page 8, signed and stamped) ;- a CD with the music in a not compressed format file and good sound quality;- the payment receipt .

Every documents must be received before of 29 th december 2012 at the address AREADANZA a.s.d.c., via G.

Ferraris 4G, 57124 Livorno ( Italy ).Wrong or incomplete forms may result in exclusion from competition without refounds.

Art. 5 : the contest :At Check-In, every group-leader will deliver any request documents and another CD for each dance, with only 1track music in a good quality. For each CD, on the label and on the disc, you must write schools name and dancetitle. Than we will give passes and personal numbers to all participants. Rehearsals are scheduled only for thesection CC on Saturday morning. For the other sections, participants may go on stage for a quick time, duringpauses, to evaluate spaces and distances. Stage is 18 meters large, 11,5 m depth and has 5 stage wings for side.During semifinals, at the end of each dance, performers must stay few seconds in front of jurors, than exit fromthe stage. Thanks to this time, judges can read the personal number, necessary for the assignment ofscholarships. Equipment that could damage the stage or make it slippery, isnt allowed. The use of equipments,tools or objects must be requested before registration and authorized by organizers.To ensure same criteria in evaluation, all dances will be performed with white lights only.

Art. 6 : Judges and criteria :

Scores are exclusively made by a mathematic sum of technical votes. The Jury is composed by internationalfamous persons of dance world, who will be publish as soon as possible on our web-sitewww.areadanzalivorno.it . In the final rounds, judges will express also other votes for the communicative andexpressiveness ( COM), which will go to attach the corresponding premium, and for the inspiration, the attentionto costumes, creativity, and anything else could define the genius of the choreographer, that will assign theprize for originality ( ORI). Among all winners, jurors will vote the absolute winner ( ABS). The scholarships andthe open-cards will be assigned thanks to the personal numbers, only by discreption of jurors. Jury reserves tonot assign some prizes or awards available. Every valuation and decision is absolutely insindicable.

Art. 7 : access to the theatre and to ticketsThe access to the stage, backstage and dressing-rooms will be allowed only to dancers and to 1 choreographerfor each group, thanks to the personal pass received during check-in. Passes could be changed only presentingthe broken one. In case of lost, a new pass will costs 15 as penalty.Parents or accompanying could enter to the theatre paying the ticket.

Art. 8 : legal autorizationsThe organizers will not be responsible for damages or injuries that occur during the event to things or people.The registration fee and the sum paid for its services will not be returned in case of cancellation (if it dependsto the performers). The head guide of each group, under his sole responsibility, declares that all participantshave a good health state for physical fitness, certified by a doctor; that the minors participants have obtainedpermission from parents or legal guardians, and that the organizers have the permission to freely use for its

purpose the images taken during the activities. The head guide, who subscribe this application form, declareunder his own responsibly that about each point, regulation, terms and conditions have been largely informedand approved by students, parents, tutors or guardians.

Art. 9 : Videos and photosVideo and photo will not be allowed, strictly reserved to the official reporters. Pics and movie will be buyableimmediately in the hall of theater. Submitting application form, people authorize Areadanza to a wide and freeuse of all images captured during the contest.

Art. 10 : LegalsThe format and the logo of the contest LIVORNO DANZA are a trade mark. Abuses or copy are prohibited.For any legal dispute, the jurisdiction is only Livorno.

Art. 11 : ConclusionsThe organizers reserve to change timetable, prizes and activities for impediments. In this case, nothing will beexpected by participants. The organization reserve to change timetables, and every articulation of thecompetition. Every change will be communicated to the participants as soon as possible. In case of cancellation,all fees will be refounded .
