Modelling and Photomontage Production Orthorectified aerial photography with 10cm resolution and 0.5m contours covering 340 km 2 was supplied by AAM Pty Limited and used in conjunction with mine plans and revegetation sequencing provided by R.W. Corkery & Co. Pty Limited with all data provided in GDA94 / MGA Zone 56. Contours and mine plan data were combined to create a 3D Digital Terrain Map (DTM) and the aerial image was applied to the 3D DTM surface. Using 3D StudioMAX software, the camera viewpoint dwg was merged to the 3D DTM and virtual cameras were setup using these x,y points. The camera elevation ‘z’ relied on 0.5m contours + an eye level elevation of 1.65m. Mine sequencing plans in combination with revegetation heights/density and texture advice where provided by RW Corkery & Co Pty Limited and Itoo software was used to distribute 3D vegetation onto the DTM. Texture mapping such as pasture, active mining and the like were then applied to the DTM as determined on the mine sequencing staging plans. Specific virtual sunlight systems were then set up to replicate time stamped photography for each photograph viewpoint. Camera matching was undertaken using viewpoint photography and DTM, then virtual cameras and camera targets where aligned to the DTM by rotating the camera around the z axis. Viewpoint Years 0.5, 1, 3, 7, 10, 15 and final landform were then rendered and composed using Photoshop and adjusted as required to accommodate depth haze and other environmental features. The existing view and final photomontages were exported from Photoshop as a 5760 x 3840 pixel jpg image. Figure B1 Photomontage Locations

Modelling and Photomontage Production

Orthorectified aerial photography with 10cm resolution and 0.5m contours covering 340 km2 was supplied by AAM Pty Limited and used in conjunction with mine plans and revegetation sequencing provided by R.W.
