DiXON JONES CASE StuDiES
Dixon Jones are a design orientated practice known for their cultural projects, university buildings and commercial developments in sensitive urban sites. Jeremy Dixon and edward Jones established the partnership in the 1980s after winning the competition to redevelop the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
Subsequent cultural projects in London include new wings at the National Gallery and National
portrait Gallery, improvements to Somerset House and the transformation of exhibition Road linking the major institutions of South Kensington.
The practice has expanded in recent years to take on large-scale developments across a range of different sectors. The Kings place project, a £97m mixed use building in Kings Cross won numerous awards including the British Council
for Offices ‘Best of the Best’ Award for its offices and the Wood Awards Gold Medal for its concert hall. Dixon Jones’ largest commercial scheme to date, the £300m redevelopment of the former Regent palace Hotel in piccadilly Circus including offices, retail and residential accommodation was described by The Crown estate as the most ambitious scheme they have ever undertaken.
