DID YOU KNOW? Lianne Laurence, LifeSite News, Feb 16, 2018
A shocking 1,029 people were euthanized in Ontario in the first 18 months after Canada legalized the practice, according to the provincial coroner’s report. The data was uncovered by Patricia Maloney and published on her blog Run With Life. Maloney was told by Ontario’s Minis-try of Health there is no doctor’s “billing code” for eutha-nasia or assisted suicide in the provincial health insur-ance plan’s schedule of benefits, and that the provincial coroner’s office was “tracking the cases.” The data she received from the Office of the Chief Coroner/Ontario Forensic Pathology Service documents that 1,030 people received “MAiD,” or medical assistance in dying up to December 31, 2017. Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government legalized euthanasia in June, 2016. One death was “patient administered” while 1,029 were “clinician ad-ministered.” But Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, warns that the numbers could be higher.
The average age of the people killed by euthanasia was 74, with the youngest age 22, and the oldest age 101, the report documented. “Imminent loss of capacity” was listed as the rationale in 12 percent of the cases, “imminent death” in three percent, with “both” listed as the rationale in seven percent of the deaths. “Let the children come unto me” - Mark 10:14
• The vestibule is still a part of the Church. Please refrain from talking to other parents or using electronic devices.
• Please do not let children play in the vestibule—it is not a nursery.
• Please do not re-enter the Church during the Homily or Eucharistic Prayer.
• Please do not walk around the back of the Church or other areas of the Church during the Mass.
Once young children have been given the attention they need, we hope they will rejoin the rest of the congregation for the Mass, as it is important for all children
to experience the Sacred Liturgy. Thank you.
As adults, we should never leave the Church during the Mass, except for urgent matters, as it may become distracting to others, and to your own proper worship of God.
Therefore, we ask that you observe the following guidelines when utilizing the vestibule as an area to tend to children during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass:
As many of you may have noticed, the two doors to the vestibule of the Church have been fitted with glass inserts and a newly-installed speaker, in order to see and hear the Mass. This is in response to those who have asked for a place to temporarily stand with their infants and toddlers, when needed, during the Mass. While in the past, parents were only able to take their children outside, we now hope that the vestibule will serve this purpose during Mass. We also hope that this will address the needs of (1) parents who need this option in the care of their children at Mass, (2) children, so that they may best be guided toward the habit of silence and reverence in Church, and (3) other members of the congregation who have communicated to us their being distracted by the excessive noise children sometimes make during the liturgy.
