MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR MISSION UGANDA In June, parishioners John and Mia Berthiaume will be traveling to Uganda for a service mission trip through Morris Catholic High School. Please consider donating much needed medical supplies for over 1,000 students in three grade schools run by a group of religious sisters.

to June 2nd
, there will be a bin in the narthex labeled “Mission Uganda” where medical supplies such as band-aids, neosporin, anti-bacterial wipes, gauze and medical tape can be donated. Contact John at 862-377-9919 with any questions. Your support is greatly appreciated!

The 47th Annual Msgr. John R. Ryan Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, June 3
rd at Rockaway River Country Club, Denville.

If you can’t make the event but would like to still participate we are running the BOOSTER BOARD RAFFLE again this year. PRAYER FOR THE SICK Father of goodness and love; hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.

BRIDGE RETREAT SUCCESS We welcome our 8
th Grades (soon to be 9
th Graders) into the
Confirmation program during the Bridge Retreat last Saturday. We home they enjoyed the event and got a taste for what they will be experiencing in the next two years as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
REGISTRATION Registration for the 2019- 2020 year will be sent out soon for our incoming 9th and 10th graders.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
First Reading: Acts 14:21-27 Paul and Barnabas traveled to many towns and found many disciples willing to help them preach. They warned their disciples of the trials they would face. Paul and Barnabas then returned to Antioch, where their journey had begun, and told the congregation there of the progress they had made. Second Reading: Revelation 21:1-5a John had a vision of a new earth, and a new Jerusalem coming down from heaven. Then a voice described Jerusalem as a place where God would live among his people and comfort them. The former world had vanished, and pain, death and suffering had left the world as well. Gospel: John 13:31-33a, 34-35 After Judas left the last supper, Jesus warned the other disciples that he would not be with them much longer. Jesus gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them. He stated that their love for each other would distinguish them as his disciples.
“A GLORIOUS LIFE” Do you realize that all of creation, you and me, exist for one purpose only…to give Glory to God. In today’s Gospel, Jesus leaves us clear instructions on how we are to live as His followers when He says: “I give you a new commandment – love one another as I have loved you. In this way the world will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.” Jesus glorified the Father from the height of the cross by suffering with an incalculable and unfathomable love for you, His child, to the point of death. What parent would do less for their own child? This is the kind of love that called you out from the mind of God into existence. Jesus has shown you what God’s unconditional love looks like. The next time you look at a Crucifix, remind yourself that you are looking at “Love in action.” Like Jesus, your love for another will always include self-sacrifice of your time, talent, attention and knowledge. If you are unable to love those you can see, then how can you love God, whom you cannot see? Love must come from within, overflowing out of your love for Christ. Jesus is loving you, with an everlasting love, from this life right into the next. WHATEVER YOUR SACRIFICE, YOUR REWARD IS GREATER, BECAUSE NOW YOU ARE LEARNING TO LIVE THAT GLORIOUS LIFE WITH THE CHRIST! Would you like to become Catholic or complete your Sacraments? Loyola Jesuit Center, a peaceful oasis in the heart of Morristown, will host its eighth annual “Evening in the Loyola Prayer Gardens” event on Thurs., June 27 from 6:30 to 9:00pm. Ticket price of $40pp, $75 a couple includes cocktails, light buffet dinner and live music by The Baroque Orchestra of NJ under the direction of Robert W. Butts. A Super 50/50 Raffle drawing will take place with a chance to win up to $30,000, if all tickets sell. Each raffle ticket is $100. Funds raised will help the Center continue its mission of providing one-of-a-kind retreat experiences and spiritual offerings for people of all faiths, ages, cultures and walks of life. from 7- 9 p.m. A Registration Form and Code of Conduct form are available on the OLM website www.olmchurch.org (click on “CYO” tab). A $125 check payable to OLM, signed code of conduct and completed registration are required the night of registration. First time Catholic players must provide a COPY of their Baptismal Certificate, which is also due that night. Your child must be actively enrolled in the religious education program (CCD) to be eligible to play. We are looking for coaches at all levels. If there is enough interest and coaches available 4

PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MARY Mary, we pray today for all mothers who are afraid to be mothers. We pray for those who feel threatened and overwhelmed by their pregnancy. Intercede for them, O Blessed Virgin Mary, that God may give them the grace to say yes and the courage to go on. May they have the grace to reject the false solution of abortion. May they say with you, "May it be done unto me according to your word." May they experience the help of Christian people, and know the peace that comes from doing God's will. Amen.
