School hours are 7:45 am to 3:15 pm.

Classes begin promptly at 7:45 am. Tardies will be marked at this time.

Enrichment time is from 7:45 to 8:15. This is enrichment for your student to help with weak areas or extend their learning of concepts from academic classes.

If your student must miss school due to an illness or doctor’s appointment, be sure to bring in or send a note stating your student’s full name and the purpose for the absence along with the date of the absence and sign the note.

Please be sure to bring in or send the note as soon as possible because we have a time limit on entering the noted information.

The note will be forwarded to the PEIMS secretary for her to note in your student’s record.

When sending lunch money with your student, please remind your student to include the following things on the envelope: First and last name Homeroom teacher Date The envelope will be place in the class lunch envelope

and sent to the cafeteria where it will be credited to your student’s lunch account.

Siblings can be included on the envelope. Just please provide how the money is to be divided and place the same information for the sibling on the envelope.

This will give you an overview of what your student is doing in each class along with the homework

This is a way to help keep you informed on how your student is performing in each class.

You can set up your parent portal to notify you when your student is missing assignments or has a low grade on assignments.

User name and password will not be given over the phone.

25 Loops = Hat Day Bring a stuffed animal for the day (must be able to fit in a backpack)

 50 Loops = Write a positive e-mail to a parent or guardian about your day

Office treasure box 75 Loops = Read a short story book to a class of your choice 100 Loops = Teacher’s Aid for one class period

Extra computer time 150 Loops = Sit at teacher’s desk for the day

Eat lunch with a teacher and a friend of your choice 200 Loops = Get a free book from the library

250 Loops = Lunch with an assistant principal (by appointment)

Free homework pass Help an office staff member during DEAR

300 Loops = Duck tape Mr. Bogus or to the wall during lunch  350 Loops = Throw water balloons at Mr. Bogus 500 Loops = Shave Mr. Bogus’ head

Grading Policy 7% Homework 30% Major Assignments (Tests/Quizzes) 63% Minor Assignments (In class work)

Late Assignments 10 points off of the grade for everyday it is late. No

more then 30 points will be deducted for late assignments.

10 day Rule Students have 10 school days to make up a failed test

Students should read for 30 minutes per night 4-5 days a week

A reading bingo sheet has been given to your student to encourage a variety of genres being read.

Students need to read a minimum of 400 pages per 6 weeks.

5th Grade students are required to participate in the science fair as there will be several grades throughout the science fair project.
