We toured vineyards for several years, where we observed and tasted numerous wine styles and varieties. We fell in love with the calcareous-clay soils and climates influ- enced by the Atlantic sea. We understood that the best plots were planted on elevated slopes where the best soils shone. We felt that the wine from Bairrada symbolises the connection with the local environment that we originally sought, it is complex, respon- sive, relying on the freshness conferred by its acidity. Our wines aim to be local, authen- tic, conferred with the hand of friendship. A sample of nature through beautiful vine- yards, soil, climate and sound knowledge about the location. LOCATION Tiago Teles co-founded the wine site ‘Os5às8’ where he practised and consolidated his activity as wine critic between 2002 and 2006. In the course of that project, he co-au- thored 4 editions of an annual wine guide. Tiago later co-founded the wine site ‘No- vaCrítica-vinho’ acting as wine critic between 2007 and 2009. He co-authored the guide ‘Portal Portugal Guia de Vinhos Portugueses e Estrangeiros’ 2008 and 2009. But Tiago’s dream had been always to make wine; get closer to the land, to find his own identity. He came across this opportunity in 2012. Taken by the freedom and his belief to create a pristine, digestive wine, in partnership with his father, Tiago chose a certain number of respected grape varieties, well adapted to the location and harmoniously matched. PEOPLE ATTITUDE Led by a deep passion for the sea and a life trajectory connected to it, we decided to pro- duce a wine which reflected that strong influence of the Atlantic. A wine that showcases a whole project that reflects and is influenced by our family history: perseverance for human values of freedom and friendship. We wanted to establish ethical relationships with each wine, the winemakers, its history, and the community. Our wine making pro- cess respects the grape and is conducted with indigenous yeasts, no enzymes, collage, filtration or clarification. EN HISTORY

LOCATION

Tiago Teles co-founded the wine site ‘Os5às8’ where he practised and consolidated his activity as wine critic between 2002 and 2006. In the course of that project, he co-au-thored 4 editions of an annual wine guide. Tiago later co-founded the wine site ‘No-vaCrítica-vinho’ acting as wine critic between 2007 and 2009. PEOPLE

ATTITUDELed by a deep passion for the sea and a life trajectory connected to it, we decided to pro-duce a wine which reflected that strong influence of the Atlantic. A wine that showcases a whole project that reflects and is influenced by our family history: perseverance for human values of freedom and friendship. We wanted to establish ethical relationships with each wine, the winemakers, its history, and the community. Fresh fruit flavours on the nose. Once in the mouth, the fruit flavour invades the palate, guided by a min-eral touch. Balanced tannins lengthen the flavour to a final that is digestive and dry. You will experience the simplicity of a wine, thought for its historical purpose, which is to refresh and accompany meals at any moment and place.

Tasting Note

The climatic conditions influenced the vine very positively in 2012. The grapes were harvested in the second week of September. The batch fermentation started naturally to be then aged for 6 months in oak barrels.

Vinification

Accompanies grilled meat and fish to perfection. An all-year-round red wine to drink in the company of friends to celebrate friendship.

“The pictorial image of the vouga Gilda, a beautifully-crafted wooden boat made by a grandfather in 1961, was taken by my father in 1984 and recovered by me in 2011 among old slides lost in a garage. Among other people, the picture shows my two elder brothers in their teenage years.”
