CFOS/C/T40 hours - Two certi�cation exams with this course
This course prepares the student to obtain both the �ber connectors specialist (CFOS/C) and testing specialist (CFOS/T) certi�cations. After reviewing basic �ber information and safety procedures, participants will discuss, demonstrate, and perform the processes required to master �ber cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting. Approximately 80% of this course is hands-on.
CFOS/S/T40 hours - Two certi�cation exams with this course
This course covers what the technician needs to know for both the �ber splicing specialist (CFOS/S) and testing specialist (CFOS/T) certi�cations. Participants will review basic �ber information and safety procedures, and then discuss, demon-strate, and perform the processes required for splicing, testing, and troubleshooting �ber-optic networks. Approximately 80% of this course is hands-on.
CFOT Certi�ed Fiber Optic Technician40 hours - One certi�cation exam
Demand for technicians with the right credentials will continue to increase as more homes and businesses sign up for �ber-optic services. Becoming a CFOT gives a technician the opportunity for greater job growth, increased salaries, and enhanced job security. This course has two components: theory and hands-on. Emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of working with �ber-optic cables, including connectorization, fusion splicing, and testing.
After completing the required CFOT course, you may take any specialist certi�cation courses.
CFOS/H/D40 hours - Two certi�cation exams with this course
This course is designed for both the �ber home specialist (CFOS/H) and design specialist (CFOS/D) certi�cations. It covers how �ber-optic networks are designed, with emphasis on the OSP network from the CO to the end user, both residential and commercial. Participants will study the latest �ber-optic cables for the networks in use today, examine termination enclosures, understand the latest industry practices, and review current test equipment and testing procedures.
Certi�ed Fiber Optic Specialist/Outside Plant (CFOS/O) 32 hours - One certi�cation exam
This course develops the practical understanding and skills required to properly design, install, and maintain �ber-optic networks in telecom-munications, broadband, and premise (LAN) applications. Participants will study the latest �ber-optic technology and equipment in conjunc-tion with appropriate terminology, operating procedures, and policies.
Certi�ed Fiber Optic Specialist/Optical LANs (CFOS/L) 24 hours - One certi�cation
This course focuses on Optical LANs, or OLANs, a new way to build LANs using an all-optical-�ber cable plant and electronics derived from �ber to the home (FTTH). It is designed for technicians directly installing Optical LAN cabling plants. Participants will learn the types of OLAN architectures being implemented today, including technical, marketing, and �nancial justi�cations. Hands-on sessions will require the participants to build, test, troubleshoot, and repair an actual OLAN.
Certi�ed Fiber Optic Specialist/Data Center (CFOS/DC)24 hours - One certi�cation exam
This course will teach students data center cabling with the various copper and �ber optic cables currently being used in various data center applications. Students will study cable speci�cation sheets, typical equipment speci�cation sheets, grounding, and bonding requirements. This information will be used to prepare a data center cabling loss budget and the students will design and build a basic data system cabling link. Bi-directional testing will be performed on the completed link.
Certi�ed Fiber Optic Specialist/Antenna (CFOS/A)24 hours - One certi�cation exam
This course will teach students cabling at cell sites from the entry point to the antenna network at the top of the tower. Students will study cable speci�cation sheets, typical equipment speci�cation sheets, grounding, and bonding requirements. This information will be used to prepare a cell site cabling loss budget and the students will design and build a basic system cabling link. Bi-directional testing will be performed on the completed link.

Certi�ed Fiber Optic Specialist/Design (CFOS/D) 24 hours - One certi�cation exam
This course covers how �ber-optic networks are designed within the context of complete communications systems or construction projects. Participants will focus on how to design a �ber-optic cable plant that will provide the transmission requirements of a desired communications system.
