final tribute Monday to Fitzgerald Kennedy.
Airports, railroads and munication services halted operations momentarily as the President's funeral was held in Washington.
Many businesses and schools closed, as did amusement places, most governmental offices and the stock markets.
Thousands showed up at the site of the President's assassination in Dallas, Tex. Fioral arrangements carried a myriad of messages. One said, "God Forgive Us All."
Bells Ton At Honesdale, Pa., the bell at
Grace Episcopal church tolled 4fi times at noon, once for each year of Kennedy's life.
In Norfolk, Va., a bell atop the city's Public Safety Building rang 50 times, once for each state.
In an old firehouse at Keokuk. Towa, and in the First Presbv-terian church in Springfield, 111., bells that tolled 98 years ago for another assassinated president, Abraham Lincoln, rang out again.
New York's bustling Times Square came to a standstill at noon. Pedestrians stood reverently, heads bowed, as two Boy Scouts blew Taps from atop the
John! area. In the cathedral-like confines
of New York's Grand Central Station, 4,000 commuters watched silently as a huge tele vision screen carried funeral.

Thoughts for
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving it a time when those who are fortunate enough
to have families, relatives and friends gather around the festive board
It is an occasion where old fashioned menus and favorite recipes of yesteryear are brought out and dusted off. I t is also, e time when old and fond memories are revived. That is the kind of celebration that most of u, prefer on +his day that has ! N e w m a n , James NlchjMS. Nnnc been set aside as a day to count our many blessings.
Your day will leave you with a feeling of pleasure and real accomplishment if a guest is invited to ioin your gathering who, for one reason or another, might be spending a lonely day. Try it and see.
i
Before dinner may we suggest a cocktail of your choice or a low-ball . Either will enhance your appeti te. W i t h your dinner, if it's turkey or other fowl, we recommend a white, dry wine or if it's a red meat a red wine is indicated.
A t the end of your meal a you with a warm, friendly glow.
