20 • Fruita Fall Festival 2010 Parade Everyone loves a parade! The Grand Valley Bank Fruita Fall Fes- tival Parade will head west on Aspen Avenue Saturday, September 25 at 10 a.m. This is on of the largest parades in the state! The parade theme this year is “Fun in the West” and that is exactly what you will have at the parade! Come early, bring a chair and get a good spot. Please leave your pets at home. The parade route street will close at 7 a.m. Pet and Talent Show The American National Bank Youth Pet and Talent will wind down the Alpine Bank Fruita Fall Festival presented by American Family Insurance on Sunday, September 26 at the Civic Center Park at 325 E. Aspen Avenue in beautiful downtown Fruita. Line up will begin at 12 noon at Civic Center Park. All pets must be on a leash. Pre-registration is appreciated. Just take your application to the chamber office, 432 E. Aspen Avenue, before Friday, September 24. It’s Fun in the West--round up your young’uns and join the fun. The pet show will start at 1 p.m., and the talent show will start at approximately 2 p.m. The age limit for this event is 17 and under. There is no charge for this event and there will be tons of prizes awarded throughout the afternoon. Bed Races The Xcel Energy Bed Race screams through downtown Fruita on Saturday, September 25 at 9 a.m. This entertaining event is a crowd pleaser at the Alpine Bank Fruita Fall Festival presented by American Family Insurance. Beginning at the corner of Aspen Avenue and Maple Street this festi- val favorite features teams from around the valley racing their very own homemade “beds-on-wheels”.
