I. THEME. The central theme for the observance of 2019 National Disaster ResilienceMonth will be used during the contests

11. PARTIcmANTS. The Poster-Making Contest is for Elementary students (Grade I -6)`theEssay-Writing Con.tests is for High School students (Grades 7 -10) and the Song WfitingandSingingCompetltionisforSeniormghSchoolstndents(Grnde1I-12)`

OCD and DepEd Regional Offices may decide on limiting the number of participanls perschool. per school divlsion or per province basis, The participants shall present acertification from their respective school or school division as the official representative.

6. Works mList be in EBglish. Maximum word count is 2,000. Minimum word countis 750.

7. The name of the participant or school being represented should not appear in any partof the work. Participants will be given Reference Numbers which will be used toidentify the entries.

8. The organizers shall display a wall clock or digital clock so that participants areguided on the time himitatious. The organizers should also armounce the followingduring the contest time: last one hour, last thirty minutes, last fifteen minutest last fiveminutest and last minute.

9. All entries should be saved using the Reference Number as file nane. After thecontest period, entries will be submitted through thumb drives provided by theorganizers.

10. The Regional Panel of Judges shall be composed of the following:

• Chalxperson: DEPED Regional office Representative• Members: OCD Regional office Representative and other invited judges

11. Entries will bejndged on the following criteria:

• Substance and content ~ 40%• Relevance to the tapic -30%. Originality -15%• Masteryofthe Englishlanguage -15%

vl. SONG WRITING AND SINGING conmETITloN

I. All participants are entitled to ONE coach or chaperon

2. Song Entries:a. Must be an original compositionb. Must either be in English or Filipino (or combination of both)c. Must be relevant to Disaster RIsk Reduction and Managementd. May be a slow or fast song using musical ape appropriate to general audience (no

foul, demeaning or cussing words)e. Must not exceed 4 minutes and 30 seconds in length including intro and extrof. May be interpreted in solo, duet or trio.

3. No live accompaniment during the compedtion. All Minus One should be in a form ofa CD containing one (I) song only indicating the song title on the case and in the CI)itself without the nalnes of the songwhter, singer or schools division. Another CDcontaining the recorded song (vocals and iustrunental) should be submitted to theorganizers on the date of the event.

4. Five (5) printed copies of the lyrics with the title of the song but without the name of theschool/songwhter/singershouldalsobesubmjttedtotheorganizers.

`VH. OTHER PROVISIONS

1. OCD R02 and DepEd R02 shall have exclusive rights to the use of the entriesin its communications and publication materials including but not limited to OfficialGazettes,online publications , calendars and planners . This exclusivity clause covers aperiod of two years from 01 August 2019 to 31 July 2021.

2. By joining the contests9 all pardcipants agree to release and discharge OCD and DepEdand its officials and elxployees from any clainst losses or damages arising from theirparticipalon .

3. Paricipants agree that their names and the name of school represented may bereleased to the public for purposes of announcing the contest finalists and winners`
