Student Leadership Training Program Students in the Intermediate and Advanced classes who show the maturity of being dependable, self- disciplined and work well with younger students may be offered the opportunity to serve as Student Leaders. As these young people assist the adult teacher in classes (i.e. handing out and caring for props, leading the class in movements around the room), they are learning work and people skills, as well as leadership and administration. Meetings and Work Days are held periodically throughout the dance year, as well as additional opportunities for learning and community service (First Aid Training, Demonstrations, Open Houses, e.g.) Those who prove themselves may advance in the future to become Senior Student Leaders, Teaching Assistants and possibly even Assistant Teachers. Participation in this program is by invitation of the Director only. Community Outreach Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Homes Opportunities may arise during the year to perform short dances at nursing homes or assisted living facilities. There is usually no cost to participate and all students are invited to perform. If you know of a facility seeking a group to perform, please have them contact the office. Parades Two parades are held during the school year in old Katy – one in the fall and one in the spring. Studio participation is dependent on teacher availability. The only cost to participate may be a small costume rental fee. Festivals En Avant Studio may be invited to participate in various area festivals throughout the year. Participation is dependent upon director and student availability. Girl Scout/School Presentations The Studio Director will gladly make presentations to schools (for career day, e.g.) and organizations such as the Girl Scouts (for their Nutcracker patch, e.g.). There is no charge for these presentations. Please contact the office to schedule. Birthday Parties Studio teachers are available for birthday parties – at the studio or at your location. Information on pricing and how to book parties is available on our website. Performing Company Participation in both the Senior and the Junior company is by invitation of the Director only and is available to students in Levels 3-6. We perform at the request of various organizations (including church or organization events, Live Nativities, Parades, etc.). There is little to no cost involved. Spring Performance

A 1-hour program, held as announced, off campus (in the Katy area). All students are expected to participate. The Spring Performance will be held in mid or late April. The exact date will be provided as soon as the facility is confirmed.
