In Portugal people celebrate the day in which the three Kings found little Jesus in a cave in Bethlehem. It is celebrated on the 6th January.In the villages, people go from house to house and sing traditional carols about Jesus life and they are invited to enter the house and eat something. People eat a special cake with fruits called bolo- rei.

Carnival is the time of great joy and playing tricks. People wear fancy dresses and make long parades. In the towns there are fancy dress parties but in the villages people go to the street to play.

People celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. The priest and his acolytes bring the Cross to the houses and people kiss it. He says Halleluiah when he enters the houses.Children give olive branches to their godparents and receive a gift which is called folar.

Rock in Rio is an international music festivalThe first Rock in Rio was is Rio de Janeiro in1985.Since 2004 it has taken place in Lisbon.It is the biggest Music event in Portugal with a lot of the most famous rock bands performing.
