Follow the natural history trail and a world famous collection of beetles at Blackburn Museum or make a Mr Bloom hat at the craft workshops in The Mall. Don’t miss the 30 foot sleeping sow at Sudell Cross and find out all about recycling with a giant talking compost heap. Come along in fancy dress in an animal or insect costume or get dressed up on the day with a visit to our Insect Transformation Station for some creature couture. Get your face painted and pick up your wings and antennae to kit yourself out for the Ugly Bug Ball with our nature fashionistas. Round things off at the party with the stilt walking Praying Mantis and larger than life size blue bottle flies in the Town Hall Square where the stage is hosted by The Bee radio. There will be festival drumming and dancing from 4.30pm so make sure you stay for the grand finale of what will be a quacking day!
