MAIN STAGEChhandam Youth Dance Company – 9:40am-10amThe Chhandam Youth Dance Company (CYDC), an elite pre-professional troupe for 8-18 year old students, will perform Kathak dance, a classical dance of India and one of the most dynamic theater arts in the world. CYDC is the only pre-professional Kathak troupe outside of India.
San Francisco Girls Chorus – 10am-10:20amSan Francisco Girls Chorus School, deemed "a model in the country for training girls' voices", is a regional center for music education and choral training for girls and young women, ages 4-18. Their Level IV group, the most advanced ensemble, will be perform a number of songs conducted by Ondine Young and accompanied by Dr. Susan Blinderman.
Noe Valley Girls Film Festival Screening – 10:30am-10:45amThe Noe Valley Girls Film Festival founders Ella Marks, Charlotte Kane, Maggie Marks and Caitlin Kane will screen the award winning film, "Behind the Rocks”, by 10 year-old moviemaker Maia Costea. During their presentation, they will speak about their mission to create a new generation of female movie makers, directors and producers.
BizWorld Girlpreneur Competition – 11am-12pmBizWorld.org a project-based entrepreneurship program for elementary and middle school kids, will host our own version of “Shark Tank” for girl entrepreneurs. The top five girl finalists will pitch their ideas before a panel of highly successful entrepreneurs, including “Shark Tank” investor Mark Cuban, GE Ventures CEO Sue Siegel, and prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalist, Tim Draper!
Global Girls' Voices: Education and Vision for Girls' Rights – 12:30-1:10pmRise Up, Students Stand #withMalala, a collaboration of Participant Media and the Malala Fund, Global Girl Media and Girl Up/UN Foundation — four powerful global organizations dedicated to the advancement of education, health, and equity for girls — will host a inspiring panel featuring young women from around the world. The discussion is moderated by renowned author Shobha Rao, author of An Unrestored Woman that chronicles the impact of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan on women. This panel will feature four amazing girl leaders originally from Guatemala, Somaliland, Nigeria, and the US, who will discuss how they advocate for the right to an education in their countries and share their vision for girls’ rights over the next decade.
BAWSI Olympic Female Athlete Panel – 1:20pm-2pmModerated by Jennifer Smith, CEO of BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative), this superstar panel of female athletes includes Brandi Chastain, Olympic and World Champion Soccer Player; Brenda Villa, 4x Olympic Water Polo Player; and Juli Furtado, Olympian & World Champion Mountain Biker. These women will discuss the hard work, victories, and failures that led them to success, and will stick around for a meet and greet and photo ops!
Super Cool Girls Fashion Show – 2:15pm-2:50pmThis unique girl-power focused fashion presentation will feature collections that range from established Project Runway designers to FIDM graduates, Oakland School of the Arts fashion students, and students from The Sewing Room. The show will also include looks from local designers, a teen girl’s mini up-cycling collec-tion, a mommy and me collection inspired by the upcoming elections, and Athleta's new Girls Activewear collection, all modeled by Bay Area girls ages 8-18. Choreographed by model coach and TV host Charleston Pierce, with styling by Mara Kolesas of GoodFitStyle and produced by highly regarded local fashion designer and anthropologist Cari Borja.
RoCo Dance – 3pm-3:15pmFemale dancers in RoCo's youth dance company, Bodylanguage, will perform “Shadow/Land”, a piece inspired by Bodylanguage dancer Maxine Flasher-Dugenes' poem about isolation and connection to one’s community. Recorded voices by the dancers, Lainey Bloom, Maxine Flasher Dugenes, Abby Frazee, Audrey Johnson, Danielle Kisseberth, Elli Mulkey, LouLou Parr. Choreography by director, Annie Rosenthal Parr, and music by New York composer, Mike Wall.
Young Women Leading Change – 3:30pm-4:15pmVital Voices, a preeminent global organization that identifies, trains and empowers women leaders around the world, in partnership with ANNINC., will host a very special panel moderated by Jennifer Siebel Newsom! Six high school girls who have been selected as ANNpower fellows will present the amazing projects they are implementing in their communities across the US. These projects address topics including hunger in schools, cultural and religious understanding, girl leadership development, sexual assault, and girls in tech.
Grrrl Brigade – 4:20pm-4:35pmThe GRRRL Brigade is an intensive dance/leadership development program designed to provide high quality dance training, performance opportunities, and a sense of self-empowerment for San Francisco's girls ages 9 to 18. Their performance will include a Japanese Taiko drumming piece, a modern dance piece choreographed by one of the Grrrl Brigade dancers, and a Bellydance/Samba fusion piece!
“MY LEARNING” STAGE WORKSHOPSBuilding the Leaders of Tomorrow — 10am- 10:25amVital Voices will host an exciting panel featuring three women leaders hailing from India, Nigeria and Ghana who work to empower and give voice to young women in their communities through education, skills development, advocacy and mentorship. Moderated by marketing executive Carrie Motamedi, the panel will include advice from these women on how to inspire and engage the next generation of young women leaders around the world.
Leading Deeper than Skin Deep — 10:30am- 10:50am & 2pm- 2:20pmWhen it comes to race and diversity, young people are leading the conversation and the fight for change. If you're not sure how to help or what to say, stop by this workshop with YWCA to hear stories of youth in action for racial justice and get the tools you need to make a di�erence for your family, friends, and community.
Find Your "Circle of Comfort" — 11am- 11:20am & 1pm- 1:20pmGirlVentures, a Bay Area based nonprofit that works to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths, will host an interactive workshop where girls can explore and learn to understand their comfort zone, learning zone, and panic zone when faced with a challenge. Join to find out how to Live Healthy, Relate Wisely, and Lead Confidently.
Be a Friend First — 11:30am- 12:20pmWant to have better friendships? The Girl Scouts of Northern California, home to 50,000 girls and 31,000 adults across 19 counties, will host a workshop on navigating relationships to help girls in 4th-8th grade understand relational aggression and how to relate with others in a healthy way.
Shake Up the World — 12:30pm- 12:50pmIn this workshop, Girls For a Change, a national organization that empowers girls to create social change, will discuss what it means to create a positive impact on your community and the world. They will introduce current and past female social change leaders, and show girls how they can become social change agents in their communities.
Share Your Voice — 1:30pm- 1:55pmAlliance for Girls, the largest regional alliance of girls' organizations in the country, will host an insightful panel discussion of female students speaking openly about the issues they face in school. In subsequent focus groups, girls can contribute their experiences and recommendations to an important study and report being developed by the Alliance on gender issues in education.
Become The Miss CEO of Your Life! — 2:30pm- 2:55pmCome learn the steps you can take in order to become a successful leader, including securing dream mentors, finding professional opportunities, and getting on the right trajectory for college and career achievement early on! This workshop is hosted by Miss CEO, a company dedicated to providing young women with leadership training, mentorship and career explora-tion opportunities.
Create Positive Relationships — 3pm- 3:25pmLa Casa de las Madres o�ers shelter, advocacy and support services to women, teens, and children exposed to and at risk of abuse and domestic violence. In their workshop, girls will learn to recognize potentially abusive relationships, better understand what creates a healthy relationship, and gain an understanding of how the cycle of violence may apply to their lives.

Harness a Passion, Choose a Cause, and GIVE BACK! — 4pm- 4:20pmFind out how you can start small with a passion of your own and make something meaningful happen for others! Learn how 12-year-old Hollis Belger of JUGGLING FOR JUDE, cultivated her drive to improve her soccer skills into a fundraiser that has raised almost $110,000 to date for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Added bonus for soccer players, Hollis will do a juggling demo and o�er some quick tips!
“MY EXPERIENCE” STAGE WORKSHOPSNutrition Facts vs. Diet Fads – 10am-10:20am & 12:30pm-12:50pmSamantha Finkelstein, Registered Dietitian, and founder of Nerdy Girl Nutrition will help to distinguish the facts from the 'fads' in this workshop. She will educate girls on how to listen to and love their bodies, avoid dangerous fad diet trends encouraged in the media, and eat in a balanced way, remembering that all food is good food. What Do I Say Now?! – 10:30am-10:50amCenter for Domestic Peace, which leads a comprehensive community e�ort to end domestic violence in Marin County, will host an important and educational workshop to help girls feel more comfortable about expressing themselves in intimate situations. Girls will learn how to navigate the path of sex and intimacy and make powerful, self-honoring choices!
Be Your Own Natural Beauty – 11am-11:20am & 3:30pm-3:50pmGaia Girls Passages, which provides circles of support, camps and rite-of passage ceremonies for Bay Area girls 8-18, is o�ering an interactive workshop on natural beauty. Together you'll explore how to be your own version of beautiful, which includes tending not only to your outer appear-ance, but your internal physical and emotional health as well.
Protect Yourself and Your Community – 11:30am-11:55amShared Hope International's workshop sheds light on the serious issue of human tra�cking for today’s teens, educating participants on how teens in the USA today are targeted, chosen, stalked, recruited and groomed by sex tra�ckers. You will leave feeling empowered and better suited to prevent this atrocious crime from happening to friends and family.
Girl Who's Lookin' – 12pm-12:25pm & 3pm-3:25pmIn this workshop by Queenhype, girls will explore positive body image through an introduction of yoga and mindfulness and will learn how to ignore society’s pressures and instead embrace their own bodies. Queenhype promotes empowerment of young girls and women by focusing on four integral pillars: self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and positive body image.
Confidently "Kick Like a Girl" – 1pm-1:25pm & 2:30pm-2:55pmThis Teen Empowerment Self-Defense class, o�ered by Impact Bay Area, is designed specifically for girls ages 12-16. Students practice verbal boundary setting and role playing intended to help students learn to prevent attacks from ever happening because we believe that the best fight is no fight at all. Students will gain the confidence and skills needed to set healthy boundaries.
Stop Human Tra�cking – 4pm-4:25pmLove Never Fails, dedicated to the restoration, education and protection of those involved or at risk of becoming involved in domestic sex tra�cking, is o�ering a youth and community aware-ness workshop on human tra�cking prevention. Their mission is to educate, restore, and prevent the tra�cking of humans and those who are most vulnerable.
MY DEVELOPMENT ROOMGet Started with Java Using Alice — 10am- 11:30am, 1pm- 2:30pm & 3:30pm-5pmThis hands-on computer programming workshop, hosted by Oracle Academy, a global organiza-tion dedicated to advancing computer science education, innovation and diversity in the technology field, is a training program that teaches basic Java programming concepts through developing 3-D Animations in Alice 3.1. Alice is a free, educational, introductory coding language tool appropriate for first time or more experienced programmers. Students will create animated stories and games using objects and characters from a rich gallery of 3-D models.
MY INFLUENCE ROOMMake a Di�erence in the World — 10am- 11:45am & 2pm-3:45pmThis workshop is hosted by THREE powerful global organizations, Rise Up, Students Stand #withMalala, and GlobalGirl Media, all dedicated to advancing education, health, and rights for girls around the world. Participants will learn tangible ways to support girls in need around the world and will develop an "ask" for policymakers. Clips from "He Named Me Malala" will be shown, and attendees will learn to record a video "ask" on their cell phones.

San Jose Dance Theater: Scene from the NutcrackerAny aspiring ballerinas out there? Come and see San Jose Dance Theater's ballet performance on the Main Stage! Founded in 1965, San Jose Dance Theater is the longest running Nutcracker in San Jose and the 2nd longest running Nutcracker in Northern California (53 years). It is the Resident Ballet Company of the 2600 seat Center for Performing Arts in downtown San Jose and was voted "Best Dance Company in Silicon Valley" by the Metro in 2017 & 2018. Many of the Academy's talented young dancers have gone on to professional careers in dance.

All day“Everybody Reads!” is a year-round program, focused on addressing the “summer learning loss” that disproportionately impacts students of color, particularly in reading comprehension. The program specifically includes books that highlight children of color, so that participants can see themselves within the stories. Come join Stephanie Cyr, Founder of EDGE Self Defense, a 5th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon do and Personal Defense Professor at SFSU. Breaking the Chains Foundation: Inner Connection Dance Workshop 12:30 - 1:15Breaking the Chains aims to help girls connect to what’s going on in the inside through the process of art, unmasking them, and bringing light to those things that may be dormant, in need, and pushed down. Come join this dance workshop called the "7 Chairs Experience,” created by Alex Little, an International Choreographer/Dance Master Teacher. Alex will teach you the inner workings of this movement by engaging participants in a real-time interpersonal experience of inner struggles and connection through this powerfully-creative dance process.
Breaking the Chains Foundation: 12-Minute Athlete 1:30 - 2:00Do you want a healthy growth mindset around your fitness goals? Learn from celebrity health and fitness expert and Founder of the 12-minute athlete, Krista Stryker, in this fun action-oriented workshop. She will take you through specific movements, mindset techniques, and you will leave with take-home tips.
INTERACTIVE EXPOThis year’s festival features 30+ non-profit organizations who serve girls in the Bay Area. These organizations support girls through services relating to sports, well-being, media literacy, self-confidence, health & safety, education, and advocacy work. Attendees are invited to visit each of them at their tables to learn more about what they do and join them in games, quizzes, and contests.
GIRLS CRUSHING IT POP-UP SHOPGirls Crushing It is partnering with us at the Girls' Festival! 40 girls ages 8 - 18 have been selected by Girls Crushing It to take part in a Brand Identity & Product Photography Workshop and receive 1:1 coaching to sell their products at the Girls' Festival. Their curriculum was developed in partnership with lecturers from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. BizWorld is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching kids the basics of entrepreneurship, business and finance. They will provide a unique opportunity to design & manufacture your own creatively innovative products, sell them to attendees, and participate in a scavenger hunt around the festival to earn BizBucks to buy other products! Activities are based on BizWorld's flagship project-based entrepreneurship program where students work in company groups to start and operate their own businesses.
California Academy of Sciences: Costumes and GamesThe California Coast Meet & Greet is a roaming, theatrical experience teaching about the biodiversity of the California Coast. You will see their costumed team members playing the role of inhabitants such as sea stars, purple urchins, and sea otters throughout the day! The Earthquake Preparedness Game will require you to pick the best supplies to pack for survival during an earthquake. You will learn about awareness and safety preparedness in the event of a natural disaster, primarily earthquakes. I Spy Butterfly is an interactive butterfly identification game, introducing you to some of the Academy’s rainforest exhibit’s featured butterflies alongside an identification key. You will also learn how to identify one butterfly through the matching of shape, size, pattern, and color.

Join Camp Fashionista for their fashion illustration makerspace activity and learn the correct proportions of the body along with how to draw a great face, and put it all together in a darling outfit! Activity and camp curriculum are based on what Camp Fashionista owner, fashion designer, entrepreneur and teacher Dori Gladden learned at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and is focused on the industry-standard 9 head fashion figure.
