MAIN STAGEChhandam Youth Dance Company – 9:40am-10amThe Chhandam Youth Dance Company (CYDC), an elite pre-professional troupe for 8-18 year old students, will perform Kathak dance, a classical dance of India and one of the most dynamic theater arts in the world. CYDC is the only pre-professional Kathak troupe outside of India.

San Francisco Girls Chorus – 10am-10:20amSan Francisco Girls Chorus School, deemed "a model in the country for training girls' voices", is a regional center for music education and choral training for girls and young women, ages 4-18. Their Level IV group, the most advanced ensemble, will be perform a number of songs conducted by Ondine Young and accompanied by Dr. Susan Blinderman.

Noe Valley Girls Film Festival Screening – 10:30am-10:45amThe Noe Valley Girls Film Festival founders Ella Marks, Charlotte Kane, Maggie Marks and Caitlin Kane will screen the award winning film, "Behind the Rocks”, by 10 year-old moviemaker Maia Costea. During their presentation, they will speak about their mission to create a new generation of female movie makers, directors and producers.

BizWorld Girlpreneur Competition – 11am-12pmBizWorld.org a project-based entrepreneurship program for elementary and middle school kids, will host our own version of “Shark Tank” for girl entrepreneurs. The top five girl finalists will pitch their ideas before a panel of highly successful entrepreneurs, including “Shark Tank” investor Mark Cuban, GE Ventures CEO Sue Siegel, and prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalist, Tim Draper!

Global Girls' Voices: Education and Vision for Girls' Rights – 12:30-1:10pmRise Up, Students Stand #withMalala, a collaboration of Participant Media and the Malala Fund, Global Girl Media and Girl Up/UN Foundation — four powerful global organizations dedicated to the advancement of education, health, and equity for girls — will host a inspiring panel featuring young women from around the world. The discussion is moderated by renowned author Shobha Rao, author of An Unrestored Woman that chronicles the impact of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan on women. This panel will feature four amazing girl leaders originally from Guatemala, Somaliland, Nigeria, and the US, who will discuss how they advocate for the right to an education in their countries and share their vision for girls’ rights over the next decade.

BAWSI Olympic Female Athlete Panel – 1:20pm-2pmModerated by Jennifer Smith, CEO of BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative), this superstar panel of female athletes includes Brandi Chastain, Olympic and World Champion Soccer Player; Brenda Villa, 4x Olympic Water Polo Player; and Juli Furtado, Olympian & World Champion Mountain Biker. These women will discuss the hard work, victories, and failures that led them to success, and will stick around for a meet and greet and photo ops!

Super Cool Girls Fashion Show – 2:15pm-2:50pmThis unique girl-power focused fashion presentation will feature collections that range from established Project Runway designers to FIDM graduates, Oakland School of the Arts fashion students, and students from The Sewing Room. The show will also include looks from local designers, a teen girl’s mini up-cycling collec-tion, a mommy and me collection inspired by the upcoming elections, and Athleta's new Girls Activewear collection, all modeled by Bay Area girls ages 8-18. Founded in 1965, San Jose Dance Theater is the longest running Nutcracker in San Jose and the 2nd longest running Nutcracker in Northern California (53 years). Join the team from Applied Materials as we dive into the world of cookie decorating to learn about microchips, one of the “ingredients” that makes cell phones, watches and computers so smart. This workshop is most appropriate for girls in 4th – 7th grade.

ROOM 5 IGNITE: Change Your Community - Find Your Political Power 10:30 - 11:00Let IGNITE, who sees political power in every young woman, help you to use your voice to change your community. There isn't a better time to get engaged as a girl in politics. In this interactive workshop girls will be introduced to trailblazing leaders and become politically motivated themselves, starting right now in their own communities.

Academy for Independence: The Unstoppable Girl 11:45 - 12:15Have you noticed that being a girl isn’t easy? From having to deal with grades and friend drama to parents and high expectations, life can sometimes seem like a roller coaster. How do you make it through the challenges? Join Academy for Independence for their “The Unstoppable Girl” workshop to feel more empowered, get clear on who you are, what you stand for, have an easier time making decisions, and learn tools to be happy and grateful in the face of it all.

Girls for a Change: Storytelling for Social Change 12:30 - 1:00This workshop is all about expressing yourself through storytelling. We will be using the medium of puppets to tell stories about situations and things that affect us. The point of this workshop is to show how expression in any way is important to the emotional wellbeing of a person.

MEZZANINE FLOORCareer Girls: Share Your Story on Camera All dayCareer Girls will be hosting a video shoot for girls to share their stories and career goals. Participants will also get to talk about how they want to change the world and what it means to be an empowered girl today. The videos will be featured on Career Girls' website and social media platform. All ages welcome; girls who are under 18 years of age will need to have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian.

Mayor London Breed's Initiative - Opportunities for All Internship Program All dayIn October of 2018, San Francisco Mayor London Breed launched Opportunities for All – an initiative focused on providing paid internships for youth 14 – 24. Learn about the opportunities available through the program. Youth who live or attend school in San Francisco or have a parent/caregiver that works in San Francisco are eligible for the program. Visit us for a special treat, fun conversations and entertaining activities.

San Francisco Human Rights Commission: Everybody Reads! All day“Everybody Reads!” is a year-round program, focused on addressing the “summer learning loss” that disproportionately impacts students of color, particularly in reading comprehension. The program specifically includes books that highlight children of color, so that participants can see themselves within the stories. Come by and grab a reading guide, join in the fun-filled activities, and explore the wonderful world of books with “Everybody Reads!”

Six Seconds: POP-UP Festival All dayDo big feelings sometimes get in your way? Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is being smarter with feelings. In this workshop, hosted by Six Seconds, you'll play games and do crafts that teach you how to turn emotions into instant messages that you can use. Join a million girls around the world in partnership with UNICEF World Children's Day to learn about your emotions, increase well-being, and become action partners for global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

United Fire Service Women: Obstacle Course, CPR Training, and Heimlich Maneuver All dayThe United Fire Service Women/San Francisco Fire Department is inspiring girls to consider a career in the fire service, while helping others and serving the community. Learn about fire safety, practice Hands-Only CPR, Stop the Bleed, and the Heimlich Maneuver. Run through their mini-confidence course and see what it takes to be a firefighter!

FITNESS CLASSESEDGE Self Defense: Defend Yourself! 10:30 - 11:00 • 11:30 - 12:00 • 2:00 - 2:30Have you been wanting to learn basic effective strikes and moves to get out of holds and defend yourself? Come join Stephanie Cyr, Founder of EDGE Self Defense, a 5th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon do and Personal Defense Professor at SFSU. You will learn self-defense skills such as grabs, holds, chokes, bear hugs, and ground work. She will also take questions about assault and self-defense with prizes and giveaways.

Breaking the Chains Foundation: Inner Connection Dance Workshop 12:30 - 1:15Breaking the Chains aims to help girls connect to what’s going on in the inside through the process of art, unmasking them, and bringing light to those things that may be dormant, in need, and pushed down. Come join this dance workshop called the "7 Chairs Experience,” created by Alex Little, an International Choreographer/Dance Master Teacher. Alex will teach you the inner workings of this movement by engaging participants in a real-time interpersonal experience of inner struggles and connection through this powerfully-creative dance process.

Breaking the Chains Foundation: 12-Minute Athlete 1:30 - 2:00Do you want a healthy growth mindset around your fitness goals? Learn from celebrity health and fitness expert and Founder of the 12-minute athlete, Krista Stryker, in this fun action-oriented workshop. She will take you through specific movements, mindset techniques, and you will leave with take-home tips.

INTERACTIVE EXPOThis year’s festival features 30+ non-profit organizations who serve girls in the Bay Area. These organizations support girls through services relating to sports, well-being, media literacy, self-confidence, health & safety, education, and advocacy work. Attendees are invited to visit each of them at their tables to learn more about what they do and join them in games, quizzes, and contests.

GIRLS CRUSHING IT POP-UP SHOPGirls Crushing It is partnering with us at the Girls' Festival! 40 girls ages 8 - 18 have been selected by Girls Crushing It to take part in a Brand Identity & Product Photography Workshop and receive 1:1 coaching to sell their products at the Girls' Festival. Their curriculum was developed in partnership with lecturers from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. BizWorld is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching kids the basics of entrepreneurship, business and finance. They will provide a unique opportunity to design & manufacture your own creatively innovative products, sell them to attendees, and participate in a scavenger hunt around the festival to earn BizBucks to buy other products! Activities are based on BizWorld's flagship project-based entrepreneurship program where students work in company groups to start and operate their own businesses.

California Academy of Sciences: Costumes and GamesThe California Coast Meet & Greet is a roaming, theatrical experience teaching about the biodiversity of the California Coast. You will see their costumed team members playing the role of inhabitants such as sea stars, purple urchins, and sea otters throughout the day! The Earthquake Preparedness Game will require you to pick the best supplies to pack for survival during an earthquake. You will learn about awareness and safety preparedness in the event of a natural disaster, primarily earthquakes. I Spy Butterfly is an interactive butterfly identification game, introducing you to some of the Academy’s rainforest exhibit’s featured butterflies alongside an identification key. You will also learn how to identify one butterfly through the matching of shape, size, pattern, and color.

Camp Fashionista: Illustrate Your Fashion DreamsBeing able to express your ideas is a key part of being a fashion designer! Join Camp Fashionista for their fashion illustration makerspace activity and learn the correct proportions of the body along with how to draw a great face, and put it all together in a darling outfit! Activity and camp curriculum are based on what Camp Fashionista owner, fashion designer, entrepreneur and teacher Dori Gladden learned at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and is focused on the industry-standard 9 head fashion figure.

Dykes with Drills: Intro to Tools WorkshopDykes with Drill's mission is to provide equity for women, transgender, and gender non-conforming people in the construction and housing trades. Power tools are empowering. Learn to use them and build extraordinary things.

Gilead: Science is Sweet Get your taste buds ready to practice being a scientist and learn about the sweet side of chemistry. Join Gilead in the makerspace area to perform a Science is Sweet experiment, comparing the physical properties of cotton candy to crystalline sugar. Girls get to practice critical thinking, problem solving skills, and can meet scientists to learn about their education and professional career.

Girl Scouts of Northern California: Space Scavenger HuntJoin the Girl Scouts of Northern California as they lead you through the magic of space and STEM on a Passport to Stem-Venture! There will be a scavenger hunt where you will learn all about the adventures of science AND the wonders of space through hands-on learning. Plus, if you bring back your Passport to STEM-Venture, you will be entered in a raffle to win a cool swag bag.

Helix: Pulling DNA out of a StrawberryHave you ever eaten DNA? Most likely, the answer is yes! We usually learn about DNA as a life-giving material that’s passed on from generation to generation, carrying with it little nuances that make each of us unique. But DNA isn’t just in humans—it’s in every living organism, including some of the foods we eat. Come see for yourself as Helix shows you how to extract (and see!) a strawberry’s DNA. Interactive material, strawberries, and instructions for how to do this at home await you at the Helix table.

Tinkering School and Brightworks (K-12) invite you to visit our makerspace and help design and build a Massive Marble Maze! Learn from our experienced female staff how to use power/hand tools and collaborate with other attendees to assemble construction materials into a 20-foot long marble maze over the course of the day!

Xilinx: Picture this…and more!Have you ever sent a picture to a friend with a cell phone? Chances are it went through a Xilinx chip. Xilinx designs chips with billions of transistors that are really small and go inside self-driving cars, the Mars Rover, and robotic surgical devices making them fast, smart and powerful! Visit their booth to learn about some basic principles they use in their work and create a special memory for the day! While you are there, you can also enter their drawing for a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 instant camera.
