It’s time for a little foot tapping music.

Local residents and visitors alike will have two days of music on the July 4 weekend.

Saturday, July 3, folks will be entertained by four dif-ferent groups at the park below the Visitor Center at Grand Coulee Dam.

Eric Engebretson, billed as Eric E., kicks off the musi-cal evening July 3, at center stage from 5-7 p.m. Eric has performed at the Festival of America on a couple of previous occasions. He hails from Pullman, Wash., and his specialty is a wide range of music, and an ability to fulfill requests. Name a decade, he’ll sing you a tune, accompa-nying himself on his acoustic guitar, sometimes in a duet (he has a digital looper that allows this).

He is followed at 7 to 7:30 p.m. by the Coulee Dance Squad. The squad has placed

from Wenatchee performs, beginning at 4:30 and last-ing to 7:30 p.m. The nine-member group makes its first Coulee Dam appearance. Hang out in the park and you might be surprised when the band plays just for you.

From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Coulee Dam’s own Kayla New-land teams up with Chris Bai-ley for another country music presentation.

Headlining the evening show again is Sogura with his award-winning presenta-tion of Elvis Presley. It again leads into the Laser Light Show, which leads into the grand finale fireworks pre-sentation shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Time to kick backSettling in for the show is part of the tradition in the park below the Visitor Center on the Fourth of July.

Grand Coulee Dam tours on the hour

Dam tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors ride a shuttle van to the Third Powerplant where they view the turbine shafts of two of the largest generators in the world. Visitors then ride the shuttle across the top of the dam for spectacular views of Lake Roosevelt upstream and the Columbia River winding through the town of Coulee Dam downstream.

Tours last for approximately one hour. No reservations are taken and space is limited. Visitors must be at the tour stop at least 15 minutes before the start of each tour.

The Grand Coulee Dam Area Visi-tors’ Guide contains a wealth of information about the area, its history and its people.You can pick one up for free at the Visitor Center at Grand Coulee Dam, or at any gas station, convenience store, motel or campground in the area.The complete guide is also online.
