About the photographer

Ferry Tan, born in 1956, Jakarta, and moved to the Netherlands 1n 1965, where he estabished himself as a professional freelance photographer in the early 1980’s.

He started off his professional career in commercial photography which included a great deal of studio work for mail-order companies in Holland and Germany.

Working for these clients provided him the necessary experience and expertise in photography varying from product to fashion.varying from product to fashion.

He decided to move back to Indonesia permanently, in mid-1995At present his main activites have largely shifted to architecture and landscape photography but howsoever, he still loves to take up the challenges of lifestyle, fashion and all that come

with print-ad photography.In his practice he approaches his subjects with respect and a unique yet simple

mindset when it comes to creativity and concept.He believes that the rule “less is more” is important to bring out the essence and that the act He believes that the rule “less is more” is important to bring out the essence and that the act of discovery does not lie in seeking new views but in finding new eyes and that uniqueness

lies in the will to run the extra mile.

This approach usually results in an agreeable interaction between his regular and future clients for nobody can resist fresh and new perspectives.
