Turn your love of cars into an easy game!Draw or tape lanes on a piece of cardboard to create a car track. Hold the cardboard up at an angle (or prop it on some furniture or place it on stairs) and let kids take turns racing their mini Ferrari cars down the track. Who will be the winner?



Checkered Flag Cookies

Ingredients•1 cup butter, divided•1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips•2 packages (17-1/2 ounces each) sugar cookie mix•2 eggs•4 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided•36 wooden skewers (5 inches)

Directions•In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup butter and chocolate chips. Cover and microwave on high for 1-2 minutes or until melted; stir until smooth. Add the contents of one cookie mix package, 1 egg and 2 tablespoons flour; stir until combined. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until dough is firm.•Meanwhile, place the remaining butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and heat on high for 1 minute or until melted. Stir in the remaining cookie mix, egg and flour. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until firm.•On waxed paper, roll out the plain and chocolate dough into separate 9x5-in. rectangles. Cut each rectangle into nine 1-in. strips. Stack the strips in groups of three, alternating plain and chocolate strips, and forming six separate stacks. •Form two blocks by placing one plain-topped stack on each side of a chocolate-topped stack and one chocolate-topped stack on each side of a plain-topped stack; press together gently.•Cut both stacks into 1/4-in. slices. Place 3 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° F for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Immediately insert a skewer into each cookie. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely.

To build a straight segment: a.Cut a 7.5 cm (3 inch) wide strip of paper. b.Draw two parallel lines that divide it into three 2.5 cm-wide strips. c.Fold the two sides up 90 degrees along those lines to form walls.

To build a loop or a hill: a.Cut a 7.5 cm (3 inch) wide strip of paper. b.Draw two parallel lines that divide it into three 2.5 cm-wide strips. c.Make marks every 2.5 cm along the long edges of the paper. d.Cut inward 2.5 cm from these marks to form tabs. e.Fold the tabs up 90 degrees. f.Bend the track into the shape you want, and tape the tabs together to hold it in place. This step is easier with two people, one to hold the track in place and one to do the taping.




To build a curve: a.Cut a 7.5 cm (3 inch) wide strip of paper. b.Draw two parallel lines that divide it into three 2.5 cm-wide strips. c.Make marks every 2.5 cm along one long edge of the paper. d.Cut inward 5 cm (2 inches) from these marks. e.Fold up the uncut side of the paper 90 degrees to form a wall. f.Fold up the tabs on the other side to form the other wall. g.Since the bottom portion of the track is cut into segments, you can bend it horizontally to form a curve. Tape the tabs together to hold the curve in place.

To build a support strut: a.Cut a 6.25 cm (2.5 inch) wide strip of paper. b.Draw four parallel lines that divide it into five 1.25 cm (0.5 inch) wide strips. c.Cut inward 2.5 cm along these lines from one edge. d.Fold along the lines to form a square shape (so two of the segments overlap), and use tape to hold in place. e.Fold the tabs you cut at the end outward. This will allow you to tape the tabs flat to a piece of cardboard, so your strut can stand upright.




And now the fun begins!1.Before you start building, plan out a design for your roller coaster. Draw your design on paper. Figure out how many supports and pieces of track you will need. Make sure your marble starts at the top of a hill. 2.Using a piece of corrugated cardboard as a base, assemble your track according to your plan. Tape the track segments together end-to-end to connect them. 3.Place the marble at the top of your track and let it go. Watch carefully. What happens? Does it make it the whole way through the track?4.If the marble made it the whole way to the end, try making your track longer by adding more pieces. 5.If your marble didn't make it to the end, try to figure out why. Is there a spot in your track where the marble got stuck? Was the marble going too slow to make it through a loop? If necessary, make changes to your design, like making the curves more gradual or the starting hill taller, and try again. 6.The most important thing is to HAVE FUN! There are no limits to what you can create!

Ingredients:8 cups Whole Wheat Flour1 cup Vegetable Oil

Instructions:Place the flour in a large mixing bowl and add the oil and combine. Once the oil is incorporated into the flour, your play sand is ready. You can give it a little test by picking some up in your hand and squeezing it together as you make a fist. Does it stick together a bit now? If not, mix in a bit more oil.

Transfer the mixture to a shallow container with sides so the kids can play.
