and the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership who are committed to improvements

and support for enhanced uptake

What are BID’s

• The means, authorised by Parliament, by which businesses in a defined area can work together to make improvements

• Financed by business rate levy • Democratic, equitable and fair

– 1.25% max £2,000 pa (very large companies)– Floor of £75 pa– Average £266 pa– 100% retained locally with investments determined by

businesses

• March – consultation on spending priorities (circa £500K up to 2019)

• April – Formulation of BID Business Plan following business meeting and discussions

• May/June – Ballot• Late summer/Autumn commencement of

improvements
