SITUATION AND DESCRIPTIONFenrother Grange was believed to have been originally constructed circa 1979, and was purchased by the current owners in 1995. It is a fabulous detached two storey house which has a very privileged position within mid Northumberland. The house is located between the A1 and the A697 running north of Morpeth up to Felton and Longhorsley. It is one of a small number of country houses set in a hamlet at middle Fenrother. The house has its own private drive and electrically operated gated access between stone pillars, leading into a circular pebbled courtyard and parking area. There is a substantial four car garage detached from the house, and to the east a lovely stone enclosed terrace and patio – ideal for barbecues and with lovely rose gardens. The formal gardens and grounds extend to approximately 12 acres including four substantial grazing paddocks; a timber constructed barn and livestock shed, as well as an open pond. The paddocks have fence enclosures and gated access onto the local road. Fenrother Grange is built in stone, and outline planning permission has been granted for its further extension at first floor level to provide a fifth master bedroom suite if required (further details on file). The house enjoys a beautiful aspect to the southern elevation of Fenrother with lovely views over the surrounding countryside and farmland. The property has a timber constructed dog kennel, storeroom and outbuildings. The property itself has its principal entrance reception hall to the south elevation at the front of the house, and cloakroom/wc. The hall leads onto a magnificent drawing room 9.19m x 5.86m with a feature stone chimney breast and double doors onto the gardens, as well as mahogany flooring. The second lounge opens up into a very substantial west facing conservatory extension. Built in UPVC it divides into a breakfasting area, sitting area, and agymnasium. There are lovely views to the south and west over the gardens. The kitchen breakfasting room is to the centre and rear of the house with a range of wood cabinets and furniture, beamed ceiling and feature brick arched wall separating the breakfasting and kitchen area.
