About the training modulesThe practitioner certificate training consists of 8 intensive modules (4 days each) held overthe year. There are best started at the beginning of the year with module 1. Each locationhas its own scheduling for the 8 modules, so refer to the timetable. There are 6 main FengShui modules that are the same in each location, the other two modules vary from locationto location with different teachers being involved with the other 2 modules involvingsubjects such as Ecological Design, Baubiology, Sacred Geometry, Space Clearing andDowsing

Please note, the above is just a LIST of modules, they do not necessary go in this orderover the year- in fact- each location has its timetable and sequence of the above modulesheld over the year

Students can enter into and join the trainings during the year as each module is aunique subject. However- the advanced 4 pillars training pre-requisite is theintroduction to the 4 pillars. It is advised before studying the Flying Star module thatstudents have attended the module on the 8 trigrams and BaGua Ba Zhai methods.

Either way- it is always advisable that students begin with module one and workthrough the program as the year progresses.

The 6 main Feng Shui modules are consistant- and you can attend these in any ofthe 4 locations. For example, if you cannot make one of your modules in New yorkyou can attend it in either San Franciso, London or Sydney.

The two other modules, involving subjects such as sacred geometry, permaculture,baubiologie, Eco-design techniques, space clearing etc vary from location to location, butgenerally have the same themes involved. There are two of these modules which also needto be completed to complete our Certificate Practitioner course in Feng Shui

Students can attend the modules in any order as long as pre-requisites are met.

module is a unique topic and a stand alone course (except for modules ‘advanced 4pillars’ and the revision exam/site sites).

MODULE 1Principles and Origins of Feng Shui - the Foundation Course

Module 1 consists of an exploration of the origins and history of Feng Shui, the differentschools of Feng Shui, the development of Feng Shui's most powerful tools and anexplanation of the underlying principles that allow Feng Shui to work; with a strongemphasis on “Form School”(one of the 2 original schools of Feng Shui).

You will gain an understanding of the Taoist (daoist) Art of Design and its part inenvironmental awareness and Solar Architecture. You will unravel the complexities ofthe yin-yang principle and 5 elements theory and learn how to utilize them in design toenrich life and create the best energetic qualities for health and prosperity.

You will gain a practical knowledge of the most valuable Feng Shui applications forhome, business, and personal growth.

This module includes:

• The history and origins of Feng Shui• The dynamics of yin and yang, the Tao, oriental diagnosis, the five elements, and

their application; to invigorate your health and prosperity• The principles of Feng Shui and their definitions• Maximizing Sheng Chi (useful,positive energies) and minimizing Sha Chi (harmful or

This leads us to make more informed choices. When we select foodwhich is filled with Chi, fresh, brightly colored, organically grown and appropriate for thetiming and the needs of our physiology we achieve real nourishment and open ourawareness to the gifts of the unified consciousness. This form the basis of many traditionalhealing techniques.

Module 2Introduction to the Lo pan Compass - The Trigrams and

The Feng Shui Ba Gua and Ba Zhai methods.

In Module 2 we continue our journey with an introduction to Compass School Feng Shui (thesecond of the original 2 schools of Feng Shui). Using the Western Lopan developed byRoger Green, as a reference, you will be led to an exploration of what is possible when youcombine the 8 compass directions with the dynamics of yin/yang and the 5 elements theory.

With the introduction of the eight directions we follow the evolution of the “Later HeavenTrigrams” to construct the “Bagua” (an octagonal mandala with infinite uses in Feng Shui).We examine the Lo Shu (the magic square of Feng Shui) as it leads to the Ming Gua and BaZhai methods (the core of “Eight Houses” Feng Shui).

Using these methods you will learn how to draw an energy diagram that illustrates the 4auspicious and 4 less auspicious directions for the individual (Ming Gua) and for thestructure (Ba Zhai).

Once you have mastered these two powerful techniques you will be able to make informedand relevant choices for optimal design, that relate equally to the structure and the peoplewithin. This includes

Module 3Flying Star techniques - Advanced Lo pan Compass

In Module 3 we enter into the exploration of Flying Star Feng Shui and a more in-depth andadvanced study of the Lo pan Compass.

The Universe is ever changing and natural influences evolve with the passage of time. FlyingStar Feng Shui incorporates the elements of time and space. It will enable you to trace thepattern of change through the 20 year periods called “ages”. It makes it possible to accessthe fortune of a dwelling. With practice, one can learn how to unblock energies that affectthe aspects of prosperity and health in a dwelling.

The Lopan Compass is the essential tool in Classical Feng Shui. Its many rings reveal vitalinformation in assessing a dwelling or building site and contain a large body of knowledgethat encompasses classical Chinese philosophy, numerology and cosmology. The ChineseLopan can take a very long time to master since it requires prior learning of the Chinesecharacters. The Western Lopan developed by Roger Green simplifies the process and makesit easier for the western student to learn and use.

In this module you will learn to:• Recognize the cycles of time and different ages.• Construct a flying star chart using a shortcut developed by Roger Green• Transform or 'fly' in a forward or reverse manner depending on the age and

orientations involved• Map year and month charts.• Understand chart combinations, including inauspicious combinations.• Apply the appropriate cures (techniques for reversing ill fortune and improving luck).

• Enhance auspicious combinations.• Understand the symbolism of numerology including analyzing addresses and phone

numbers.• Integrate previous knowledge of the form and Ming Kwa schools with the flying star

to produce a professional report.• Integrate associations of the 8 trigrams (body parts, family member, symbolism,

directions) to further predict the tendencies involved.• Master the 81 combinations• Learn how to read and create your own Lopan• Master advanced use of the western Lopan• Derive Ming Gua and Ba Zhai information directly from Lopan• Translate the I Ching compass reading into the context of a space• Locate the 'hsueh' - (the feng shui spot).• Map the Lo Shu portents of your dwelling.• Identify the 'flying star' ring.• Identify the directionology associated with your year of birth and integrate it into

your design; including the position of the Xian Chi for enhancement of relationships.• Discover the arrangement of the 28 lunar mansions and 61 elements• Determine auspicious water and mountain locations for placement• Integrate time and space for a more effective Feng Shui consultations

Flying Stars Feng Shui is the most widely used method used in Asia. Many of our studentshave also studied Flying Stars Feng Shui and the Lopan with other teachers. Their reportinghas been consistent: Roger Green has offered them the clearest, and most understandablediscourse on the subject, and his methods simplify the processes so that they are trulyusable on every project. Many have also reported that they experienced a huge increase intheir abilities after taking this class.

Module 4Practical site visits, Revision Exam, Student projects

(Module 1,2 and 3 are prerequisites)

In Module 4, students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and applyeverything they have learned in the first 3 modules in a holistic way. They will also have theopportunity to challenge themselves, know what they have mastered and become aware ofthe areas that require further review. The focus of this module is to build confidence in ourstudent practitioners and to assure that they are well trained before going out on their own.

The first 3 days of this module are dedicated to practical site visits to different locations.Students will have the opportunity to experience the components of actual consultations ina variety of settings; all under Roger Green’s expert supervision.

The final day is dedicated to the review of the year’s work to date. There is a take- homeexam that will be reviewed on day 4. Students will also have the opportunity to presenttheir Consultation Project to the class. Completing the exam and the project are arequirement for certification.

Our goal is to achieve 100% success rate. Students who are not quite up to speed will beencouraged and given support in their weaker areas so that they may meet the standard ofthe school.

Doing ConsultationsWe will make sure our students are comfortable and adept in making professional feng shuiconsultations. Students will be required to perform consultations in between modules, sothat they can consolidate and apply the information and gain the necessary, practicalexperience. After each of the first two modules, students will perform one consultation, andafter acquiring more skill and confidence, students will be required to do two or three aftereach of the remaining modules.

Creating Your Feng Shui PracticeThrough a unique business plan, we will help students dedicate to a solid business formulaand generate a large client base. You will learn vital marketing skills, such as creating a

business card, promotional brochures and website development. We will help you begin asimple practice after six months of study and get you motivated to start attracting a coupleof clients in the first month and grow possibly up to 20 a month after the first year. You willlearn how to consult and follow-up with clients for a 2-3 month period and sustain therelationship for up to 6 months or more.

Module 5Feng Shui Horoscope - the ‘4 Pillars’ of Destiny

In this module we enter into the fascinating study of a very important system based onTaoist Metaphysics and Cosmology. Used extensively by Feng Shui experts in China, HongKong and Taiwan, Four Pillars is an ancient system that reveals aspects of destiny,constitutional dynamics, and beneficial elements. This sophisticated method is as useful forderiving important and very personal Feng Shui information about Feng Shui clients as wellas clearly revealing aspects of their character. Armed with superior knowledge of theirclients and their needs, the practitioner can optimize the relevance and results of theconsultation.

Four pillars is an ancient system of constructing a Horoscope based on the “HeavenlyStems” and “Earthly Branches” at the hour, day, month and year of birth. Interpretation isthe result of examining the manner in which the elements and animal archetypes containedin the charts interact with aspects within the chart as well as conditions in the world.

Four Pillars’ greatest strength for Feng Shui is its ability to accurately determine theElement make-up of the subject. Once the self element is determined beneficial elementscan be recognized and the most appropriate Feng Shui adjustments and design choices canbe made.

In this Module you will learn to:• Calculate the Natal Four Pillars chart• Calculate the Ten Year Luck cycles chart• Calculate annual Pillars charts• Calculate daily pillars charts• Calculate charts for Northern and Southern Hemispheres• Understand the significance of Earthly Branches and Heavenly Stems• Analyze Four Pillars charts to determine strengths and weaknesses• Understand which animal archetypes interact supportively• Understand which animal archetype combinations should be avoided• Understand special charts and their implications

In this segment we will explore exciting possibilities in creating our spaces using Ecologicaland Sustainable Design principles. We will become familiar with the process of designingstructures that are a joy to inhabit as well as being earth friendly. You will discover how tointegrate passive solar strategies that are cost effective and enhance comfort andproductivity.

In a broader perspective this choosing is a direct communication with the unified field thatwe are choosing longevity and a positive relationship with our environment.

Practical design guidance as well as a resource guide will be provided as a guide to greenand sustainable materials.

Healthy Homes

This segment addresses the biological and health aspects of our dwellings. We will examinestrategies to detect and mitigate unhealthy conditions such as indoor pollution, physicaldangers and excessive electro magnetic fields in our living and work spaces.

The effects of electromagnetic pollution on our immune systems must be taken into accountif we are to create homes and workplaces which keep us healthy rather than making ussick. This course presents the latest information on power lines, electrical sub-stations,fluorescent lights, mobile phones, televisions, computers, laptops, baby alarms, microwaveovens, electric blankets, immersion heaters, hi-fi's, night storage heaters, ionizers, dimmerswitches for lights, anglepoise lamps, clock radios, and a whole host of other electricalappliances used in homes and offices.

Dowsing and Space Clearing - Using the L Rod and PendulumDetecting and understanding invisible energies and forces is an essential part of achievingoptimum design in relation to health and well being.

Dowsing has been utilized in one form or another in every culture and tradition since thebeginning of time and refers to tried and true techniques for tapping into universalconsciousness. These techniques permit the dowser to seek information and guidance thatmay not be easily available in any other way and often allows the gathering of informationand answers that reach beyond our rational, intellectual mind and our physical senses.

You will learn the seemingly magical use of the 2 primary Dowsing tools: the L rod and thePendulum.

We will explore their many uses:• Detecting and interpreting Earth energies ( the lines and sinews of Chi that run in,

through and over the body of the Earth. Sometimes called ley lines or earth gridenergies).

Building Biology and Permaculture Design

Building Biology looks at how the buildings in which we live and work impact on our health –and how we can create buildings that are healthy for us, and nourish us in Mind,Body and Spirit.

A knowledge of Building Biology will help you become aware of factors in our homes thatadversely affect our health. Many of these cannot generally be seen or felt, and it is onlythrough learning about them that we can hope to minimize their effect on us.

Areas that we will concentrate on in this course are:

Day 1: Air Qualilty – we’ll learn about all the ‘hidden extras’ in our air – and howwe can make sure that the air we are breathing is as clear and fresh aspossible.

Water Quality – we’ll look at what we’re usually drinking, what it may bedoing to us, and remedies so that it’s clean, pure and vital.

Day 2: Electromagnetics and Radio Frequency: We’ve become increasinglydependent upon modern technology and communications, and rarely stop tothink of the effect that this may be having on us. We’ll look at the latestresearch, and learn what to do about it. This will include information on:powerlines, substations, mobile and cordless phones, dimmer switches,electric blankets, microwaves, sewing machines, waterbeds, the digital clockradio, and much, much more.

Permaculture mimics the patterns and relationships found in Nature to provide anabundance of food, and energy. It harmoniously integrates landscape, shelter and peopleso that their needs are provided in a way that is sustainable.

It is a practical concept that can be applied to either a balcony in the City, a suburban block,or a farm deep in the countryside.

The Body, Heart and Soul of the Dwelling

We will strengthen and sharpen our attunement with the whole,learning specific blessings and how to work with elements, breath and movement.

Using the analogy of our bodies as our first architecture, we will be introduced to thedevelopment of architecture from Sufi stories and how spaces have been designed in theMiddle East, North Africa and India to support the development of the human spirit. On thelast afternoon we will open the subject of obsessions and impressions and how tostrengthen the Truth, including special blessings to remove harmful impressions.
