Second Wave Feminism
• The 1960s and 1970s saw a resurgence of feminist activity, including the women's liberation movement and the more mainstream feminist groups. This period has been called the Second Wave of feminism, with the first wave usually thought of as being from 1848-1920, when women won the vote.

movement.• Event began in the West• The Second Wave Of Feminism attempted to further
combat social and cultural inequalities.• The Women’s Liberation Movement (WLM) was born
in the US among students radicalised by the mass black civil rights movement and opposition to the Vietnam War.

•In the mid-1960s, the country was riveted by political activists, first battling for the civil rights for African Americans, then demonstrating against the Vietnam War. Women learned from these radical criticisms of society and began to adopt their rhetoric and methods toward issues of women's rights.
