Adults: Participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). Infants to age 5: Parents and Godparents participate in Baptism program. Children (Grades 1-8): Participate in Religious Education Program. Please make an appointment to discuss preparation for the sacraments.

:: CHRISTMAS 2014 :: FOR UNTO US IS BORN TODAY A SAVIOR

WHO IS CHRIST THE LORD! We celebrate Christmas and we hear again the Good News. It is not just the Good News of the birth of the Child Jesus in Bethlehem, the wonder of his parents, the praises of the an-gels and the visit of the shepherds. It is the Good News of a Savior born to us TODAY!

Saint Augustine writes: “God became a man for this pur-pose: since you, a human being, could not reach God, but you can reach other humans, you might now reach God through a man. And so the man Christ Jesus became the mediator of God and human beings.

God became a man so that following a man--something you are able to do--you might reach God, which was formerly impossible to you.” (Commentary on Psalm 134, 5).

The image of the Christ child with His arms extended towards Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, Wise Men, even towards the animals moves our hearts. We are reminded again that Je-sus reaches out to us – not just in the scene of His birth but each day of our lives.

He invites us to trust in His love for our salvation. He invites us to reach out to our brothers and sisters to share that same love.

Prayer of Joy at the Birth of Jesus: Let the just rejoice, for their Justification is born.

Let the sick and infirm rejoice, for their Savior is born.

Let the captives rejoice, for their

Redeemer is born.

Let slaves rejoice, for their Master is born.

Let free people rejoice, for their Liberator is born.

Let all Christians rejoice, for Jesus Christ is born.

:: NAVIDAD 2014 :: PARA NOSOTROS HOY HA NACIDO UN SALVADOR QUIEN

ES CRISTO, EL SEÑOR! Celebramos Navidad y oímos otra vez la Buena Noticia. No solo es la buena noticia del nacimiento del niño Jesús en Belén, la ma-ravilla de sus padres, las alabanzas de los ángeles y la visita de los pastores. ¡Es la buena noticia de que un Salvador ha nacido por nosotros HOY!

San Agustín escribe: “Dios se ha encarnado para esto: para que tú que en cuanto hombre no podías alcanzar a Dios, sino solo a los otros hombres,, ahora pudieras llegar a Dios por medio del hombre, Él es el mediador entre Dios y nosotros.

Dios se hace hombre para que, siguiendo a un hombre – algo que puedes hacer – pudieras alcanzar a Dios, algo que en un tiempo era imposible para ti.” (Comentario en el salmo 134, 5).

La imagen del niño Jesús con sus brazos extendidos a María, José, los Pastores, los Reyes Magos, incluyendo a los animales, mueve nuestros corazones. Se nos recuerda otra vez que Jesús está ahí para nosotros, no solamente en la escena de su naci-miento sino cada día de nuestras vidas.

Él nos invita a creer en su amor por nuestra salvación. Él nos invi-ta a llegar hasta nuestros hermanos y hermanas para compartir ese mismo amor.
