OUTSTANDING CHALLENGES - TOPICS

P
OUTSTANDING CHALLENGES - TOPICS
1. Influencing IPPC needs a Global Co-operation – ‘single voice’2. Is an IPPC mark a valid proof of ISPM15 compliance ?3. Regional implementation differences of the ISPM15 regulations.4. Funds and Research necessary to proof that WPM is compliant.5. Maximize industry efforts to minimize risks of infestations.6. Make di-electric heating a commercially available alternative.7. Please no Changes to standards without a global consensus8. A revision of the 2009 ISPM15 regulations for Repair of WPM.
9. Harmonisation implementing ISPM15 – marking & repair rules
P
A nightmare for our industry, recyclers,palletpools and for every NPPO inspector
P
WAY FORWARD -> CONCLUSIONS
1. FEFPEB will keep supporting all initiatives to protect our forest.
2. Try to get RECYCLERS more involved. (NWPCA best practice)
3. TEST and DEVELOP the capability of Di-Electric Heating.
4. TALK to your local NPPO’s (to grow understanding and needs)
5. Pallet Pools require a specific ISPM15 regime. (fully controlled)
6. Pallets should keep ISPM15 status once HT. (durable marking)
7. Working in PARTNERSHIP in a constructive way with DG Sanco
UNITE our LOBBYING EFFORTS to ensure that EU & IPPC Regulations will be scientifically justified, reasonable, feasible and AFFORDABLE.
