Effort is more
important than talent.
We don’t grade on talent!

practice, patience, and persistence!

Rubrics based on “I can” statements are on each table as students work.
A graded rubric easily communicates exactly why any points were taken off. Points are assigned specifically to degrees of mastery of each “I can” statement.
Personal written feedback on rubrics clarifies specifics and offers suggestions for improvement.
Artwork that demonstrates all three earns a heart stamp.X# of heart stamps = invite only art activity!

challenged myself to try something new & original.
3= engaged: mostly focused. stretched: worked to the best of my ability.
2= engaged: “kind of” focused stretched: worked but did not challenge myself.
1= engaged : not very focused. stretched: worked below my ability.
4= I went beyond the assignment objectives.
3= I met the assignment objectives.
2= I met some of the assignment objectives
1= I met few or none of the assignment objectives.
