    Parliament: the writs were returned on February 13, 2006 and Parliament was dissolved on

    September 7, 2008.

    The shortest minority government lasted 177 days (5 months and 24 days). It occurred during the

    23rd Parliament: the writs were returned on August 8, 1957 and Parliament was dissolved February

    1, 1958.
