The Pastor Search Committee is very excited to see what God is doing in our midst and how He is moving to accomplish His purpose. God is knitting our hearts together as we strive to serve Him for this special task. We are getting to know one another better each time we meet. We are praying for one another daily as we seek wisdom, clarity and direction. Our committee is currently receiving resumes in search of our future pastor. If you have a resume that you would like to submit, please turn it in to one of the committee members. Please continue to pray for us as a committee and for the man God has for our church. God is faithful. He has promised to supply our needs. Let us be faithful in our service to Him as we wait. In His Service, Your Pastor Search Committee “I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.” Jeremiah 29:11

ASSOCIATE PASTOR | RANDY McKEE

This has been a great year in Upward Basketball and Cheerleading. At every practice and game God’s Word is shared with the players and their families. A few weeks ago, Tommy Tootle gave a devotion and stated that he did not know very many of the people who were at the game. About 80 percent of those participating in Upward do not attend our church and a large portion of that number does not attend church anywhere. We were blessed averaging about 500 people a week coming through the gym. God is good! This has been a good outreach ministry for our community. We still have a week remaining in our season and Family Night is on Feb. 27th at 6:30 pm. Our guest speaker will be illusionist, Brett Meyers. Everyone is invited to attend. We covet your prayers as the gospel will be shared with each team and entire families. This ministry would not be possible without your participation and prayers. We would like to thank everyone who made this Upward season possible. You are very important to us and to these children. Whether you coached, led devotions, refereed, worked concessions, kept score, or prayed, you have partnered with us in ministry and you are very much appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

God has blessed us in so many ways. One of the greatest blessings is our children. With that blessing comes a great responsibility. Our children learn so much from us. They learn how to walk and talk. They learn how to treat others and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. They also learn what is important and what is not important. Many of our children learn how important God is in our lives from their parents. Our children are the future of the youth ministry and the adults. How important is God in your life?

The Great Race We have always had fun during The Great Race. Each class wants to know who is winning and how far ahead they are. We have 50 to 100 visitors just in the Children’s Department. The winning class will be announced February 25th. Thanks to all the parents and your help.

Sign up for camp has already started. The children enjoy a time of games, fellowship, OMC and worship. There are only so many spots reserved, so do not delay! Fundraisers are coming up. Help a child to camp and be a blessing. Thank you!!!

Changes! Why are they necessary? Usually changes are viewed in two ways: negatively or positively. Whether you are a proponent of change or not, changes have to happen in order for complacency to not occur. I speak of changes when it comes to our worship of the Lord. How do we re-store our worship-our spirit when life has beaten us up? Is it even important to restore our worship? God created us to worship Him not for our benefit, but for His. Changes that you might need to make in order to restore your worship are as follows: 1. Remember your SALVATION. In Psalm 51:10, “God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Remember what it was that first drew you to Christ. 2. Remember your CALLING-was it a supernatural calling? Ephesians 4:1-3, “Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to live worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” We are called to Christ to serve Him with our gifts and talents. We are all called to share His message with the world. We use the expression of music in worship to give glory to God. We are WHOSE we are! Ministry is not achieved, but rather received! 3. Remember your PURPOSE. Our purpose is to glorify God in everything we do! The ultimate goal is spiritual transformation. We attend church and study God’s word to be transformed. We worship a living God to be transformed into something greater. All for the sake of Christ and for His glory! So are changes necessary? Absolutely! We must be willing to change to be drawn closer to God and to be that witness He has called us to be.

The Sounds of Praise kicked off the spring semester on January 24th with 41 in attend-ance. We welcomed 3 new members of choir and are looking for more. There’s no audi-tion requirement to sing in this choir. The

only requirements are a willing spirit, a heart of worship, and commitment. If you can give those three requirements, then what is really keeping you from joining us in making a joyful noise? Wednesdays at 6:30 pm!

First Praise orchestra is always looking for instrumentalists to join them. If you play or have played an instrument...we need you! There is a space for you to sit and make mu-sic with us. What’s keeping you from join-

ing the orchestra? We meet every other Monday night at 6:30 pm for rehearsal.

All Senior Adults 55+ in age are invited to come join and sing in the Young at Heart Choir. This group has fun while rehearsing and leading worship in church, a nursing fa-cility or any senior adult setting. We meet

every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am in the Music Suite. We would love to see you!
