This month’s featured member is our outgoing President, Glenn Gosper. Glenn has done an outstanding job as Club President over the last few years, contributing so much of his time and energy towards the club. Without Glenn, the Toperi Tough Dog Challenge would not be what it is today. Glenn was awarded Club Person of the year for 2011. Thank You mate for all the work you have done for our Club.

CHANGING OF THE

At our Annual General Meeting in November 2011, we said goodbye and thanks to the outgoing committee. Although the club is indeed a team of players who pull together and work as one - a special mention must be made of the outgoing President Glenn Gosper, and the outgoing Secretary, Nigel Hobden, who have both contributed so much to the club over the last few years. Your efforts are greatly appreciated boys, and we know you’ll continue to contribute to the club in your new roles. At the AGM all positions were vacated, and financial members of the club elected the following members to the new committee for 2012.

pRESIDENT’S

REPORT

(quoted from AGM)Firstly I’d like to welcome everyone here today. The last twelve months has gone by in a whirl. It seems that the Canobolas 4WD Club is the busiest in the state. Once again I’d like to thank this year’s Secretary and Treasurer. Nigel and Mike do a great job keeping the Club’s paper rail in order. Special thanks go’s to Simmo’s son Nathan. Nathan has done not only an outstanding job on our monthly newsletter; he has also given a fresh look to all of the Club’s posters and brochures. This years is our Club’s 10th year and today it is my pleasure to present to five of our members an appreciation plaque for being not only founding members but ten years of service to the Club. Well that’s me for this year. I’d like to thanks all the members of the Club for their support over the last two years while I have been president and wish all the best to the incoming committee.

OUR NEXT BIG TRIP!

Date 10th-12th Feb 2012

Contact Glenn Gosper, Gavin Hillier, Dave Chapman.

As per previous years, the Canobolas 4wd club will be heading over to Dunn’s Swamp for a weekend of easy camping and relaxing. For those who haven’t been before the name doesn’t do the place justice. Swimming would be high on the list of activities but canoeing, fishing and bush walking would also be up there.Getting there is an easy 2hr drive from Orange via Rylstone, with some members heading over Friday afternoon to claim the best camp sites. Access is easy – a 4wd is not needed. This year the club will be doing some catering, using some of the proceeds from the Toperi Challenge. The club will provide meat and salad for the bbq for evening meals, and bacon and eggs/pancakes for breakfast both mornings. The club bbq will of course be in attendance. Cooks can apply on the day!If your planning on attending please let Glenn Gosper, Gavin Hillier, or Dave Chapman know ASAP with numbers, so we can organize the catering.

CheersGlenn GosperTrip Coordinator

Well it has come and gone. The 2011 Tough Dog Toperi 4WD Challenge was a huge success indeed! Despite some terrible

weather leading up to the event - the actual weekend turned out to be fine and sunny,

so we recorded some very healthy numbers through the gate - and were treated to some

fantastic four wheel drive action! In case you somehow missed it, here are the top 3 place-getters, and some terrific

images captured by our club’s intrepid camera operator Nigel Hobden, and Magazine

designer Nathan Simpson.
