February 9th

Thanks for celebrating the dedication of the new sanctuary with us last Sunday. So many helped with music, meals, cleaning, serving, decorating, and in many other ways. The gifts of many people over the years are being well used. Thank you for your support. The design decisions have resulted in a beautiful space that will facili-tate worship for many, many years. God has blessed us richly at St. Paul. And He’s continuing to build His church!

Interested in helping on a Tech Team? In order to use the expanded capabilities of the technology in our new sanctuary, we will be expanding our Tech Team. We will need multiple people serving in our tech booth every week. Training will be provid-ed. Scheduling can be flexible. Please contact Pastor Mark, Pastor Joel, or Nathan with questions or if you’re willing to learn and serve.

“New to St. Paul” is a class we offer 2-3 times a year. It’s for those connecting to St. Paul or just curious to learn a little more. Topics include: “What is a Lutheran?”, “Why do you baptize babies?” and the like. The class meets for four sessions on Sunday mornings between services (9:30-10:30) in the 8th grade classroom up-stairs. The next class starts on February 23. Let Pastor Mark know if you’ll attend or if you have any questions.

Some Sanctuary design notes: What a joy dedicating and worshiping in our new sanctuary last Sunday! You no doubt noticed total completion of the project will continue for a couple weeks. The side sections are armless to allow for infant carriers or other special needs. Storage racks on the chair backs and seats will hold hymnals and connection folders, freeing up seating.

• Behind the front walls are two rooms. One room is a sacristy for our Altar Guild. The other is a storeroom for access to utilities and storing equipment.

Giving Statements and Envelope Update. Year end giving state-ments will be available this weekend outside the new sanctuary. Please make sure to grab yours before or after worship.

For those receiving weekly offering envelopes by mail: you’re right, February enve-lopes were never delivered. Our supplier recently in-formed us they will no longer provide this service or honor our order for 2020. For the remainder of this year, we will be return-ing to traditional boxes of envelopes. Boxes will be outside the new sanctuary this weekend. Of course, you may always make a donation without an official offering envelope. Be certain to include your name and the designation of your gift. We want to make sure you get tax credit for your donations and any gifts are applied to the proper fund. Thank you for your flexibility and patience. Call the front office (Donna or Phyllis) with any questions. 770.487.0339.

The National Lutheran Choir will perform in Midtown Atlanta February 23, 4:00p. This 60 voice volunteer group’s repertoire includes sacred choral music, hymns and spirituals, along with contemporary com-positions. Here is the link to the NLCA website:
