Ambassador Club
We have heard each week how meaningful our employees are to our guests’ experiences. This week, we decided to check in with one of our stellar ambassadors from this season to see what
being an ambassador means to them.
This week, we interviewed Nora De Witt-Hoeger, who is in her first season working for JHMR.
1.What does being an JHMR Ambassador mean to you? A JHMR Ambassador provides the best customer service possible to our guests and goes above and be-yond to help in any way possible.
2.What tips do you have for fellow ambassadors as to how to provide excellent guest relations? One tip I have for fellow ambassadors is that every little bit helps such as taking the extra step to help could make a huge difference even if it seems minuscule it has the potential to make a guests experience a lot easier and more enjoyable. Even just pointing someone in the right direction or asking someone if they need help can make the world of difference.
Another step that Jackson Hole mountain resort does particularly well with is being overall friendly and helpful to guests such as offering help even if it not needed or asking how there day is going--just showing that you care is nice.
3.Why do you want to be an ambassador? Why should others? It is a great feeling to help out guests and make their vacation. Ski vacations require a lot of extra plan-ning and preparation which can be very overwhelming and stressful so we are here to help in any way we can to make their time more enjoyable. Everything that is involved in ski vacations such as lodging, rentals, ski lessons, and lift tickets can stress most people out so by guiding them through these process easier helps a lot.
4.Any positive, memorable experiences with our guests? For me working Mountain sports school sales we get a lot of guests that might be first time skier that are overwhelmed with the prospect of all they have to do especially when it comes to large families. We can get a family of six or more come to the desk and they all need lessons, lift tickets and rentals for their whole stay for different days which can get a little hectic and confusing. Our job is to be patient, friendly and as helpful as pos-sible to ease them through the process step by step. I think it’s really important to concentrate on each guest and provide them with the best service so they leave feeling excited about their visit to Jackson Hole Mountain. There is no doubt that each and every employee is integral to our overall guest experience. Please remember to acknowledge your fellow employees for all their hard work.
You can nominate co-workers in your department or in any other department throughout JHMR who exemplify our Four Core Values: Always an Ambassador, Be Safe, Be Green, Have Fun, by going to the Employee
Dashboard and completing a Nomination Form under the “Nominate an Ambassador” section, and turning it into HR & Safety or e-mailing it to [email protected].
The nomination is then sent off to their Manager for approval.

Where are you from? Loud and Proud from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Roll tide. How long have you worked for JHMR?I moved back to the valley after being in New York for 10 years and have worked at JHMR since September. Sometimes I think, “do I miss New York?” and then I open-palm smack myself and get off the gondola.Favorite thing about your job?The people. And the spontaneous breakfast bagels. But mostly the people. Ev-eryone brings a unique set of skills and experience that results in some truly amazing Marketing campaigns. Favorite run at JHMR? Bivouac and Wide OpenMost memorable moment at JHMR? Taking a selfie at the top of the Headwall. Learning how to ski has been a hilariously dramatic journey for me—I still hold the record for longest time to descend Après Vous….four hours from top to bottom. A few lessons and a lot of practice has brought me to a place where I can proudly take selfies (no filter) at the top of the Headwall and ski down without the aid of a helicopter. What would you be doing if you weren’t working at JHMR? Vocally prepping Taylor Swift for a sold-out sta-dium tour, tutoring Sasha and Malia, or being a real-life American Girl Doll. But dear lord, not all three. If there was a movie made about life in Marketing what would it be titled, and who would play you? Market-ing: The Musical. A series of heart-wrenching melodies will take you on a visceral four hour journey of what it takes to maximize brand presence. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll fix webcams, you’ll publish blog posts, and you’ll ultimately wonder why this wasn’t produced as a Broadway musical sooner. Starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. What is in your pocket? 50 cent. The currency, not the middle-aged rapper.
Ilka Hadlock: Digital Assistant
Where are you from?Freeport, Maine. 207 REPRESENT. Go pats. How long have you worked for JHMR? Since August.Favorite thing about your job?Working with some crazy creative people and getting to ski every day (‘course).Favorite run at JHMR? Party skiing Casper Bowl to the Stash Park on a bluebird pow day with all ma best friends. Most memorable moment at JHMR?An extremely high importance disk golf photo shoot with Mike and Pat-rick. I honed my skills and almost made it into Sports Illustrated: Leisure Sports Edition. Despite the fact that classifying disk golf as a “leisure sport” is extremely misleading, it was a highlight. What would you be doing if you weren’t working at JHMR? I would probably be on tour with Miranda Lam-bert. If there was a movie made about life in Marketing what would it be titled, and who would play you? Casa Blan-ca, Life on the Middle Floor. I’d probably just play myself because my acting career ended somewhere around 7th grade (devastating) and I’m looking to make a comeback. What is in your pocket? A bunch of that salty sugar stuff from the outside of sour patch kids (they’re all gone, ugh).

Top 5 Ski Jacket Brands For the Gear Head
Arc’teryxThe brand Arc’teryx’s was born and raised in conditions that are very similar to Jackson Hole. That being said it is by far the best brand in my opinion on the market. It keeps you dry and warm all day even in the worst conditions
PatagoniaPatagonia is a leader in the fight for the environment—as well as on the mountain. With time-tested products, Patagonia is a no-brainer when you need a jacket for epic conditions.
Black DiamondBlack Diamond is new to the mountain this year as far as jackets go. Yet the brand is making waves in the market with clean, crisp jackets with an added bonus of square zippers. Check them out
OakleyFor the steezy skier or Seth Morrison poser, Oakley has some fantastic kits that will match your Airbrake goggles. Even if these jackets don’t make you a better skier on the mountain, they’ll certainly help you look like one.
FlyLowFor the true 100 day skier, FlyLow is exceptional at making quality jackets. They perform day after day in all the conditions that you can throw at them.
