Piece of the Puzzle

MindFire Light the Spark Scholarship Program

At MindFire, we like to fan the flames. When we have a spark, we like to nurture it into a full-fledged fire. It’s why we established the MindFire Light the Spark Scholar-ship program for high school seniors in Rock Island and Scott County looking to pursue a career in a creative field such as graphic design, copywriting, public rela-tions, marketing and/or brand development.

We give three one-time gifts of $2,000.02 because we’re not just trying to lighten the financial burden of continuing education beyond high school… we also want to provide our two cents. We’re here to help the recipients when they reach out need-ing advice. Deadline is March 25, 2021

MindFire Scholarship

Have you ever been puzzled by what Scott Coun-ty Extension does? Each month, we will share a piece of the puzzle with you to help you become

more aware of our work.

Pesticide Trainings. All of the businesses and farmers who use pesticides are required to maintain their licenses by either attend-ing training or taking a test. We offer assistance to the Iowa De-partment of Agriculture and Land Stewardship both with training from specialists and by hosting testing times. It’s important that our land and water be kept healthy and Extension is glad to help with a part of that.
