Hello everyone, This is truly an exciting time for our club. Some of the best activities are just around the corner. We truly believe that our club is the most fun you can have with your Cadillac. Why? I’m so glad you asked.
Uncle Phil’s Ca-dillac Collection. Saturday Febru-ary 23, 11 am - A trip through time and the opportunity to see a very unique car collec-
tion. Uncle Phil has been a Vegas legend for a long time. Google him and you’ll see a man that has accomplished a great deal. He has several collections but it’s his collection of cars and specialty vehicles that we have a rare chance to see. This is also probably one of the if not the largest collection of 1941 Cadillacs in the world. Our club friend Uncle Phil is now 93 years old. He built this collection to be enjoyed. This rare Cadillac collection may or may not be around in the future. Now is the time to see this collection of 180+ cars. 90+ are Cadillacs and 34 of the Cadil-lacs are 1941. Every model and duplicates of some. All are very low mileage. Bring your camera and your best walking shoes. This is a treat you won’t want to miss. Details and address are on the flyer. You do need to RSVP to Don W 702-498-0116 that you are coming so we can plan for parking. Please car pool or park off site (see flyer) if at all possible—it is just a short walk.
14th Annual Cadillac Through The Years Sunday April 28 - at Town Square. Too soon to think about? Not really. We started the planning back in November of last year.
Would you like to be apart of this great show? Here are a few ways you can help.
• Be willing to show your beautiful Cadillacs,
$20.00 for members, $25.00 for non-members and it is FREE if you coming from out-of-state. Register on line!
• Be willing to volunteer for our registration,
raffle or membership booth—let us know at the meeting or contact DR
• Be willing to volunteer to work with our
event PARKING STAFF—Contact Gary Weaver at 702-219-2839 if interested.
• Be willing to inform others at car shows or
elsewhere by putting Save-the-Date cars under the windshield wipers or on the seat (car shows) of Cadillacs you find day-to-day. Pick up cards at the meeting!
For more information about these two events and all events, please go to our website or our event site.
Next Meeting Wednesday, Febru-ary 27. Our next meeting will be on the 27th of February at PT Gold, 215 at Buffalo.
Thank you for the privilege of being your club President. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. See you at the meeting, DR [email protected] 702-701-0378

Cadillac Updates and Just for Fun
For Fun: Gangster Car Talk Match! The 1920s and 1930s were highly influenced by
cars as we all know. Without the car, it would not have been difficult to be a bootlegger. Would you have fit in? Can you match the slang term with the meaning at the time? Answers are on page 5. Source: Bearce, Stephanie. Gangsters and Bootleggers. 2016. Read more about Al Capone’s Cadillac at http://www.myalcaponemuseum.com/id196.htm
Slang Meaning
1. Big Cheese A. Dull, boring, disappointing date
2. Fire Extinguisher B. Gas-guzzling car
3. Flat Tire C. Run on all six cylinders; 100% performance
4. Oil Can D. Chaperone
5. Hayburner E. Fleeing from police
6. Hit on all “sixes” F. Top dog/boss/DR
7. On the lam G. Dull, boring, disappointing date
Cadillac Racing soars as the brand reboots—3 wins in 3 years! Cadil-lac has won the 57th running of the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. The Konica Mi-nolta Cadillac team soldiered through 24 hours of start-and-stop racing to give the Cadillac brand a Rolex 24 hat trick with their third win in as many years. The handmade Cadillac Blackwing will only be found under the hood of the 2019 Cadillac CT6 and CT6-V models. In the standard car, the engine will produce 500 hp and 553 lb-ft. In the performance oriented V guise, however, the twin turbo V8 will offer 550 horsepower and 627 ft lbs of torque. Cadillac says they have optimized the motor for a smooth, flat power curve. By placing the turbochargers between the banks of the engine, turbo lag is reduced and throttle response improves. The Germans have been using this “hot vee” setup for a while, and now General Motors will follow suit with The Cadillac
Blackwing. The first V8? 1915. Price of CTSV6? Under $90K but unless already have, it is sold out! Check out the Video at http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/01/cadillac-blackwing-v8-gets-its-own-hype-video/
Why is it called the Blackwing? The motor is branded Blackwing, and the origin of that name is noteworthy. Blackwing name actually comes from the original Cadillac emblem, which featured a black bird called the merlette. Every individual Blackwing engine is truly a masterpiece in its own right. Each unit is handcrafted by a single technician at the GM Bowling Green high-performance build center. Read more: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/01/why-the-new-cadillac-engine-is-called-blackwing/
DOHC V8 Cadiillac Engine History: Northstar and the New Blackwing.
The first Northstar engine, RPO Code L37, was launched in the 1993 Cadillac Allante roadster and the Cadillac Eldorado. It displaced 4.6 liters and delivered 295 horsepow-er and 290 pound-feet of torque. Developed to combat an onslaught of German and Asian rivals with DOHC V8 engines, GM developed the Northstar engine family for Ca-dillac. It was a first for GM and for Cadillac as a brand. See the Blackwing above. Read more: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/02/northstar-and-blackwing-a-brief-history-of-dohc-v8-cadillac-engines/#ixzz5ecrBDQMy
