Please join us every Wednesday during Lent as we contemplate the Eight Stations of the Cross. This year, St. Paul’s is presenting two options for Bible Study and worship. We are adding an 11 a.m. Bible study fol- lowed by an abbreviated worship service with Holy Communion in the sanctuary at 12:15 p.m.. In the evenings, we will gather for a meal at Wednesdays Together at 6 p.m. followed by the “Ways” Bible Study and Holy Communion. Here is the schedule and topics for each week: March 13—Stations 1 & 2: The Trial-we will focus on Jesus’ trial, conviction, and sentence. March 20—Stations 3 & 4: The People Along The Way-we get to meet Simon of Cyrene and the women who followed Jesus and study what we know about them and why are they important to the story of Jesus’ mission. March 27—Stations 5 & 6: Humility-We will talk about the moment Jesus is stripped and nailed to a cross with a focus on our reactions as we read and study these stations’ impact on us. April 3—Station 7: The Tree of Death-We will focus on the realization that someone had to die for us and what true “sacrifice” means in our lives. April 10—Station 8: The Tomb-We will talk about Joseph of Arimathea and his introduc- tion to the story. We also will talk about how death affects our faith and our lives. THE WAYS OF THE CROSS WINE & CHEESE GATHERING Available at the end of February, this beautiful, full-color Lenten devo- tional explores the Psalms texts for Lent in year C of the Revised Common Lectionary with 40 entries, one for each day in Lent. Each read- ing is accompanied by a photo, a quote to ponder, a reflection, and a prayer. This accessible and colorful format makes it easy to incorporate a simple Chris- tian observance into your Lenten journey be- ginning on Ash Wednesday, March 6. The book of Psalms gives us a realistic look at the journey of faith for individuals and a com- munity. From crying for help to singing songs of praise and thanksgiving—and everything in between— the psalms show faith with all its ups and downs, twists and turns. More im- portantly, the book of Psalms points us to God. During times of celebration as well as suffering, loss, and lament, the psalm writers turn to God and remember God’s promises— promises kept and promises still unfolding. God’s faithfulness to these promises creates a durable, lasting hope in the psalmists and in the community of God’s people. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8 6:30—7:30 P.M. The book of Psalms gives us a realistic look at the journey of faith for individuals and a com-munity.
