If your CO alarm sounds or you suspect CO poisoning, get fresh air immediately and call 911 from a safe location, then call the New Jersey Poison Control Center at 800-222-1222. And be sure to replace your CO detector every five to seven years based on manufacturers’ recommendations. FREE Help Preparing Your Income TaxesOnce again, Fulfill is partnering with the FREE Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Now through April 18, 2018, IRS-certified assistants are available to help eligible households with preparing and filing federal and state income taxes. The VITA program provides secure, confidential tax preparation at nine locations throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties. We Just Reviewed Your Budget Plan Every January we review your account for the remainder of the Budget Plan year to make sure your budget amount is keeping pace with estimated natural gas usage through August. As such, you may notice a change in your budget plan amount. This is done to help minimize your year-end balance.

Not a Budget Plan Customer?NJNG’s Budget Plan is a great way to even out the seasonal highs and lows of your natural gas bill. Enroll today. For customers in good standing, simply pay the “Budget Option” amount and “Other Charges” shown on your NJNG bill prior to the due date. You can also sign up with My Account at njng.com.

Natural Gas Meter Winter Safety TipsWith frigid temps comes snow. When getting ready to clear the wintry mess, remember to follow these safety measures:

• Clear a path to your meter and regulator. And keep the area around them, piping and vents clear of snow and ice so they are visible and accessible for easy access by NJNG employees and first responders in case of an emergency.

• Use a broom or your hands to gently remove snow and ice from natural gas meters, piping and vents; never bang on them and avoid using sharp tools and force near them.

• Carefully remove ice hanging from your eaves or gutters over your meter and regulator.
