Welcome to the February edition of MadSpec! The joint CSI-AIA January meeting gave many of us an insightful look into the rapidly changing future of design, detailing, mod-eling and 3D printing. Judging from the many questions from architects, designers, and software practitioners, these new trends in BIM modeling will remain in the forefront of our work for quite some time. Special thanks to Jolene for setting it up and seeing it through! Valentine’s Day has pushed our February meeting out a week to the 21st. Matt Dupuis from SRI will be enlightening us on the latest trends in building insulation and issues in contemporary low-slope roofing systems. CDT classes commenced on Tues-day, January 31st, at Flad with seven people registered. Special thanks to Janet Diercks for making this happen. The NCR 2017 Conference Planning Committee is nearly com-plete with the program and sponsorships are being solicited. Opening day May 4th will feature an early bird tour of the State Capitol beginning at 2 pm and a mixer at the Children’s Muse-um at 6 pm. Friday features Leadership Training and Continu-ing Education sessions from 9-5. Saturday features a leader-ship session, NCR Annual Meeting and closes out the confer-ence with a tour of the Epic campus beginning at 1:30. Owen Landsverk, President Madison Wisconsin Chapter CSI

Have an Advanced CSI Certification?

Look for Education That Supports Your Renewal

CSI requires professionals who are renewing a Certi-fied Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), Cer-tified Construction Specifier (CCS) or Certified Con-struction Product Representative (CCPR) certification to have participated in continuing education related to their certification. Specifically, “50% of the topics must be related to the professional practice of the certifica-tion being renewed, as defined by the CSI Practice Guide.” That’s 12 hours of training! CSI events often qualify for this requirement.

Learn more about renewal requirements at www.csinet.org/certification.

Watch for CSI events that provide PDHs related to your certification!
