Southern Gospel Music Died In 2015Richard Derwin Smith (The Smith Family Quartet/The Stamps Melody Boys/The Stamps-Dixie Quartet/Herschel Foshee) on August 31st at age of 87.Savana Catee Foust (Songwriter) on October 31st at age of 88.Paul Roark (The Roarks/Chapel Valley/The Maranatha Singers) on November 4th at age of 75.Jerrel Don Brashear (The Brashears) on November 5th at age of 74.

The First Featured Group Of The MonthThe first feature group of the month is Lineage Of David. The primary mission of Lineage of David is to be led and used by the Holy Spirit. By doing so it is their prayer to see souls saved, Christians encouraged, and Jesus exalted as Kings of Kings, and Lord of Lords. They endeavor to make their group available wherever the Gospel message found in their music can be heard. It is their desire for their music to be a ministry and not just entertainment. In everything they do, they strive to do it with excellence as they represent The King. Members of the group include David Folenius (Lead), Lisa Folenius (Alto), David Doolittle (Baritone), and Sam Piper (Will Join The Group End Of February). The Second Featured Group Of The MonthThe second featured group of the month is Paul's Journey. “Entertaining, uplifting, and ministry-minded” are words often used to describe a Paul's Journey event. Paul's Journey, a Chapel Valley MusicRecording Artist on the “Inspire” label, is an award-winning group based in Houston, TX. The ministryof Paul's Journey is in its 39th year now, and they have garnered many Top 40 Radio hits and earned many awards down through the years such as the 2007 “SGM FanFair Group of the Year.” In 2012 Paul's Journey was nominated for “Horizon Group Of The Year” and in 2013, 2014 and 2015 the group was chosen by Southern Gospel Music fans as one of the “Top 5 New Traditional Quartets” in the country. Throughout time, this powerhouse group has quickly become known for their unique style and blend. The group travels some 200 dates per year all across the USA and abroad.
