The Coordinator provides liaison between the Board of Directors of the Society and the members of the separate regions and maintains com-munication at the regional level. The Coordinator provides each Regional Director with a timetable for the year, compiles information, requests any statistics generated in the regions, and reports to the President of the Society on an annual basis. Each Regional Director maintains contact with the members of his/her region through regional newsletters, maintains phone contact with Chapter Presidents, and may organize Regional Conferences.

MISSION STATEMENTOur aim is to promote and foster the appreciation of the harp as a musical instrument, to encourage the composi-tion of music for the harp and to improve the quality of performance of harpists.

SUMMER INSTITUTE ––––Focused on the student harpist and harp teachers, the Institute is held biennially on odd-numbered years alternating with the AHS National Conference. The Evaluator prepares and distrib-utes an evaluation form to all persons who attend the AHS Conference. EDUCATIONAL FUNDS –––Grandjany Memorial Fund Established in 1973 by the American Harp Society, Inc. to support excellence in harp performance, this fund sup-ports educational programs, scholar-ships, and performances of M. Grand-jany’s compositions.
Music Education Auditions Originally a part of the Grandjany Memorial Fund, and enhanced by a bequest from Lucien Thomson, found-er of the program, the fund’s growth enhances the auditions for various AHS Chapters.
The Lucile Lawrence Fund Established in 2007 by Richard Hunter, this fund honors the memory of Miss Lawrence by providing scholarships to deserving students.
The Lucile Jennings Fund Established in 2009 by Chris Jennings, to honor the memory of Lucile Jennings, this fund provides scholarships for various areas of music studies.

The AHS Board of Directors estab-lished the Endowment Fund in 1986. The Board manages this Fund with the goal of providing a steady, reliable and growing source of income while ob-serving the constraints of the Society’s IRS tax-exempt status. This income will ensure AHS’ continuing ability to address our goals, develop new pro-grams in response to changing needs, and consistently improve the quality of our existing programs.
