Parents of Eighth Graders: If your child has received any type of scholarship, (not financial assistance) please send in a copy of the letter from the high school. We wish to recognize our eighth grade students and we also like to keep track of this for our records. Please plan on joining us for our special Catholic Schools Week Mass this Friday, February 3 rd at 8:15 a.m. We will be honoring our parents and volunteers. We greatly appreciate all you do for our school! Please mark your calendars to attend the next PTG meeting on Thursday evening, February 9 at 7 pm in the cafeteria. Mrs. Willmes is asking that one parent from every family try to attend the meeting. We will be sharing information about Blended Learning. Babysitting will be available. John Amankwah to help him build a Catholic school in Ghana! What an incredible job sharing our faith with others! Congratulations to Grade 5 who won the homeroom challenge, bringing in $330.50! It speaks volumes when current parents welcome prospective families to our school and share their experiences and opinions with them. Thanks to Mrs. Drinkuth and her daughter who baked 500 cookies for the Open House! Thanks for sharing your “sweet” gift of time. We would like to thank Mrs Miller who planned our festivities for Catholic School’s Week. We appreciate all of her organizing and preparing of the week’s activities. It is good that we can celebrate and show our gratitude for our faith and our school. Thanks to the 8 th grade who helped with the Canned Good Collection on Tuesday and to the families who contributed. Thanks to the 8 students who represented our school at the Catholic Schools Week Mass at the Cathedral. We also appreciate the parents who drove to the Cathedral. Thanks to the Student Council who helped during Open House and sold the paper links for the school in Ghana. Thanks to the students and families who supported it. Thanks to the moms who worked the Hot Dog Lunch for students. Thanks to our great teachers and staff who made time in their schedules for all of our special activities through the week, attended the Cathedral Mass, played on the volleyball team and were part of the Surprise Patrol. We appreciate the PTG who provided the teachers with a lunch on Thursday and will top off the week with a treat for students on Friday at lunch. Of course, our Catholic Schools Week gratitude list would not be complete without thanking our principal, Mrs. Willmes. Her commitment to our school’s academic goals, spiritual development and sense of fun are what makes our school the greatest! As always, we are like one big family all coming together to make a success of whatever we do. We are proud to be a Catholic elementary school! May God continue to bless St. Teresa of Avila School!

ESAP Scholarship Two $750 scholarships (one boy and

one girl) are awarded to current 7th

grade students at ESAP participating grade schools. Scholarships

are credited to their 8th grade tuition. Selection is based on a

submitted application (which was given to all seventh grade

students on Wednesday) and an essay. All applications and essays

must be postmarked by March 1st. We are guaranteed to receive

two scholarships, one for a boy and one for a girl, as long as

students apply.

Tournament Champs! Congrats to the St. Teresa Bruins 6th grade boys’

basketball team on winning the St. Catharine

Invitational Tournament last weekend, defeating

Wyoming in the finals. Team members are: Sam Whitmer, Austin

Bass, Coleman Barnett, George Hazelbaker, Aiden Latscha, Jacob

Roth, Eli Crawford, and Drew Young. The team is coached by

Jared Johnson, Josh Makin and Justin Bass.

Bruin Night at Basketball Tournament on

February 4

IT’S A GREEN OUT! BRUIN NIGHT is Saturday, February 4 starting

at 6pm! Wear your green and come out and

support the Bruins in action. Here is the

schedule: 6pm 4th grade 7 pm 5th grade 8 pm 8th grade 9 pm 6th grade 10 pm 7th grade

Concessions stand open! Admission is $2 for

students for the entire night and $6 per family!

Tournament ends at 11pm.

*Tournament Note

Parents, the basketball tournament ends at 11pm

on Friday and Saturday nights. Please make sure

you pick up your children from the basketball

tournament when it is over. We had several kids

that were without rides this past weekend 45

minutes after the event ended. Thank you for

your cooperation.

Bruin Bash 2017 St. Teresa Athletics is selling Raffle Tickets for a $5,000 pot to be

awarded at the Bruin Bash on April 22, 2017. Tickets are $50

each or 2 for $90. A Raffle Ticket also get you into the Bash.

You do not need to be present to win. NEW this year are two

early bird drawings. We are giving away $250 on February 16th

and March 16th. And you are still entered for the drawing the

night of the Bash. Get your tickets NOW to be entered. Either

Skating Party The next skating party will be held on Wednesday,

February 8th from 6 – 8:30.

PTG Meeting Please plan to attend the next PTG Meeting to be

held on Thursday, February 9 at 7 pm. Mrs.

Willmes asks that one parent from every family

come to the meeting. Babysitting will be available.

Children’s Bingo The annual Children’s Bingo returns on Sunday,

February 12th from 1 – 2:30 pm in the

Undercroft. Please see reservation form

included with this packet.
